• Followed instructions from elsewhere to disable apparmor for firefox. Not sure if it was done correctly (no errors reported in the terminal) but still get the error when restarting FF.

• No I/O errors here. Not sure how to disable AppArmor for firefox only but I posted a help request to that thread.
