• This is for a paper I am helping edit for a faculty member. I am editing another paper for a different faculty member. Can you tell me which style shows the references in brackets instead of "normal" parentheses?

• I was using JAMA style. I was told: "Reference numbers in the text should appear in chronological order in normal type and in parentheses [e.g., “In the study by Norton et al. (23)...”]. "
