Solution: I got alot more memory back in November on my macbook pro. It seems to have stopped almost everything so far (as of January 2013).

thanks. Adam, I think something has smells fishy. This hasn't happened before. I started using stand alone and wonder if something got mixed up? I think i need to uninstall and reinstall firefox and zotero items but I'm alittle nervous too.

Question 1: One is custom and the other says profile directory so I think they are the same. The question is, can I change them both to say the same thing without hurting it?

"An error occurred while saving this item" I get that same error from time to time if I haven't opened zotero in FF and let it connect to zotero once. Once it does that. Error msg goes away!

zotfile I think is the FF plug in that lets you do just like you say: I suppose if there was a function that allowed one to rename files at the time they are added to zotero, that this might work out of the box, but as it is, its not too bad. …

adam, I reinstalled a bunch of stuff so it's better now. If it catches again, I'll be back. I use noscript which sometimes caused issues with zotero.
