  • Worked for me: It took me a minute to realize that the box that needs to be checked for this is now called "child snapshots and imported files" (as opposed to "Attachment Files" which someone from 2019 said).

  • +1, Came here to request this feature. There's a more recent similar thread here: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/comment/240821 and the conclusion is that it's a feature of zotfile, which is now explicitly no longer maintained.
