Update. Zotero refreshed, and the error disappeared. I still would like to understand what triggered this error so that I can avoid it in the future, if possible.

Thank you. I did not find an image in notes anywhere. I did, on a whim, ask to check for updates. Zotero said it had an update it wanted to run. I ran it. It synced with no errors.
