• Thanks bwiernik. I suspected variable comparison was not supported. As this will be a stye file for student use, I want to keep it simple. I think it will be easiest to abbreviate thesis types when importing- or just leave them intact.

• Thanks! A number of Swedish universities use the "ss." as plural. Some also promote et al. instead of m.fl.. Can I/should I override some abbreviations as specified in the locale by including them in the style? If so, can you give an example how?
