I want to re-open this discussion, because I think the problem is bigger than just sciencedirect. Everytime I use my library's proxy server (in this case UMB Healy Library proxy server) to reach a multi-journal site (e.g., ebscohost or sciencedirect…

Reason I have not bothered to try with add-ons disables is a) the same configuration was working a few weeks ago, and b) I encounter the same problem on Chrome, which has a very different set of add-ons

I don't get the newspaper icon on any of the pages: Deccan Herald, Hindu, or even Times of India or Bangalore Mirror https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/bengaluru/old-apartments-in-bengaluru-seek-exemption-from-mandatory-stps/articleshow/60809…

Firefox 52.4, Win7x64. Tried also with Chrome 62. No luck
-
But just to add that I did not have these problems a few months ago, and have records saved from Deccan Herald as recently as 6th Dec. (certainly post-zotero 5)

Problem seems tied to newspapers: when I go to a 3rd newspaper site: https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/opinion/poke-me/poke-me-rallying-to-protect-our-rivers-is-great-but-lets-get-the-science-right/printarticle/60412430.cms I am able to save to z…

And note that I was not having problems on a Google Scholar journal paper.

There seemed to be a spurious proxy entry below my real one (university related). BUT: "enable proxy redirection" is turned off. so how does this matter. And deleting that entry has not fixed the problem.

Thanks, Dan. Maybe it is just psychological, but i sense a slightly longer pause before getting results in version 5 than in version 4. But will wait to see if others have the same experience.
-
Thanks, Adam. I am also able to get it to work with individual papers. So I guess the problem is with search results.
-
I am getting this problem whether I use a proxy or login directly. The example page is: http://www.sciencedirect.com/search?qs=&authors=birkenholtz&pub=geoforum&volume=&issue=&page=&origin=home&zone=qSearch Screenshot o…

I have a slight concern. If I enable 'display in browser' then it means the pdf has to first download, become visible in my browser, then I save it to zotero. Many times, I find a pdf in google search (naked pdf) and just want to save it to zotero (…

Ah! I had missed this bit. Thanks for pointing this out! 'Mea culpa' to whoever wrote the WI style file.
-
Found it. It was indeed a style that is not in my zotero repository (must have been formatted by my collaborator). Thanks for the help.
-
it is fairly important (especially for the future!). I am able to open the .docx package, and view the individual xml files in a viewer. I see zotero citation details in the main file (document.xml). So now where would I find the details of the styl…

I guess that is what is happening: my document seems to have been formatted using a style which is not currently showing up in the style list. So every time I open this file (I am not saving it each time), it seems to default to a different style! …

Seems like it was Bing Search add-on which was triggering this problem. Its not critical for me, so have removed that add-on. Thanks for the help.
-
Aha! switched off all FF add-ons except zotero and zotero Word plugin. The folder icon is back. Now to figure out which add-on is causing this glitch!
-
Windows 7, with FF downgraded to v45.0.2 to avoid the ongoing issues with v46. My memory is that v45 did not have this icon problem earlier, but cannot swear to that.
-
Just confirming that downgrading Firefox to v45.0.2 solves this problem.

While this facility is definitely my biggest "request" to zotero, one trick i have been using in the meanwhile is to open a blank word doc and launch 'zotero-insert citation' and type the keyword I would have typed in the zotero search window. This …

Thanks, Adam. yes, I found the commands under Macros, and was able to customize.
-
Thanks, Simon, for the quick fix. The bug is gone. However, two questions: a) I usually customize things in Word so that Alt-1 is set to the Zotero-Add-Citation command. (and a few other similar keyboard shortcuts). But with the new Add-in, I am n…

Thanks, Adam. As I have posted on the other thread also, I need some help figuring out how to downgrade. Unable to properly uninstall latest version and install previous version. Just adding .dot file to the Appdata/.../Word/.../ folder does not wor…

Addition: I guess I have figure out how to first cleanly uninstall v.3.5.1 also!
-
I also had the same problem, and figured out that the source was the new zotero add-in. But i am unable to figure out how to uninstall the new one and install the old one. If I just try to install the old one (Zotero-WinWord-Plugin-3.1.20.xpi file),…

Dan and Adam: I seem to have discovered a bug with the new add-in (ver 3.5.1, I guess). I installed it a few days ago. Since then, Word2013 started behaving slightly funny. Any time I click anywhere in the document, the cursor switches from arr…

I opened the ris file in a text editor, selected all, and copied to clipboard, went to zotero, highlighted the particular group library I wanted to import to, and did Cntrl-Shift-V (shortcut for import from clipboard) and it worked fine. Thanks, Ada…

Sorry, Adam, but what is IFTTT?
