I second google scholar comparing to webcat. actually authors posted most papers on the web in my area. scholar usually links to the pdf directly. it is much more convenient.

Thanks. I see the VBA issue now. I thought the extension was written by OOo Basic. But hopefully the Zotero developers will try to add keyboard shortcut as an essential feature for future versions. I guess maybe I'm one of the picky bunch. But …

I don't want to argue. But I guess you didn't really read my message. Zotero 1.0 work fine with OO3 but not Zotero 2. So it is a regression supposed to fix. And I am talking about OO not word. Why there is anything to do with VBA?

It's not really over-the-top at all... note that I said it's unusable to "me"... I won't doubt many others can bear with it. But I saw many other similar complaints about CWYW functionalities for Zotero. I will just say maybe we are spoiled by Endno…

Ditto. Just try Zotero as an alternative of endnote today and apparently without ways of assigning shortcut just seems unusable to me...

I completely agree with mgrowhoski that there is where endnote shines despite all its fault. I like endnote that I can keep pressing alt-1, alt-2, and up-down arrows repetitively to cite numerous sources without my hands leaving the keyboards. Zoter…

Yeah, same problem as bmcm also. It seems that one should be able to add the shortcut. But simply can't find the macro inside "Tools | customize | Keyboard".
