In those later cases what benefit do you get from using Zotero to insert the citation when all there is is a page number that you will need to type in either way? Why not just use insert citation for the first one and then type "(34)" as it comes up?

In regards to number two you should be able to pull in the PDF with the "Automatically Attach Associated PDFs and Files" preference from the preference pane.

The GBV translator relies on a means for embedding metadata called COinS. It looks like the GBV is not including the full record information in that embeded metadata. I would recommend contacting them.

It is probably a good idea to use the Database Repair tool. Note though, if you are using Linux you may receive spurious results from the integrity check.

Zotero cannot pull information from plain text. If the article in question includes embeded metadata for all the citations then it would be possible for Zotero to import it. For example you can grab the references from this article.
