Second question first. DOIs are now apparently part of APA's approach, and generally a great idea to include with citations. I wish all styles would start to include unique identifiers like DOIs and ISBNs. For evidence see this from our forums, htt…

Mike300, if you want too work with the bibliographies as plain text you can always use Zotero's Drag and drop method. Check out http://www.zotero.org/documentation/creating_bibliographies
-
Currently there is no way to do this. However, these types of relationships are part of the plan. When Zotero allows more hierarchical relationships between items this, as well as a host of other issues should be resolved.
-
Do you see Zotero in your Tools drop down menu? Is it available under Tools--> Add-ons? If not, could you run through the info on troubleshooting installation. http://www.zotero.org/documentation/installation

See this thread for discussions and suggestions for resolving the 91 error. http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/2787/

The easiest way to back up your collection is to use the "show data directory" button from the advanced tab of your Zotero preferences menu. This should directly open your Zotero directory where you can back up the only two relevant items, zotero.sq…

Because of the size of the BibTeX import/export file it does not get pushed out every time you update your translators. If you reset your translators and styles you should get the most up to date BibTeX import/export file.

A fix for the informaworld translator was recently pushed out. Your copy of Zotero should auto-update within 24 hours, or you can update manually by clicking Update Now in the General pane of the Zotero prefs. To open the preferences pane click the…

For you issues with scrolling see these two threads. http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/341/ and http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/3631/. There is a strong chance that you have a few tags that are really long. Are you sure that all your tags ar…

Parsing bibliographic information from citations in plain text seems like it should be an easy thing to do, but turns out to be very difficult and complicated. For the time being, Zotero, and for that matter any other bibliographic software, will no…

The long term solution here will be folded into Zotero 1.5. You will be able to sync your files through WebDAV or through S3 storage.
-
I looked at their documentation a bit and it is unclear if StyleEase allows users to export their collection in any of the standards in bibliographic interchange formats. If you can export your collection in RIS or BibTeX you should be good to go.
-
You should be able to just drag attachments from your desktop onto items in your collection to attach them. Are you having trouble with this feature?
-
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I have added this information to a outstanding ticket for Endeca. https://www.zotero.org/trac/ticket/755

Confirmed, ticket created. https://www.zotero.org/trac/ticket/1151

For the foreseeable future the Zotero team will only be working on OpenOffice and Word plugins. With that said you can already use Zotero with any word processor or text editor through Zotero's other techniques for creating bibliographies. As an op…

You can also switch your notes to sort chronologically through this hidden pref. extensions.zotero.sortNotesChronologically
-
There is currently no way to lock items. With that said you could post a Zotero enabled "smart syllabus" to make it as easy as possible for students to reacquire the metadata for your readings.
-
Yes, you should be able to reinstall the sync preview and access your collection again.

Confirmed, ticket created. https://www.zotero.org/trac/ticket/1145

Thanks, the FAQ should now be updated.

Currently Zotero does not interface with Word 2007's reference management system. However, Zotero's Word plugin allows you to easily utilize references stored in your Zotero collection in Word documents.

I had no trouble with the article you linked to. Is anyone else having trouble with this article?
-
asarra, RIS files look like this.

A few questions. Is this happening with all your PDFs or just a specific one? Which version of Zotero are you using? Can you try disabling any of your other Firefox extensions and see if that resolves the issue?
-
I just added Can I use Zotero's highlighting and annotation tools on PDFs? to the FAQ. Do you guys think that adequately and articulately serves this need? This is also mentioned halfway down the archive the web page. It might make sense to move …

Yes, you will be able to upgrade your existing library to the new version of Zotero.
-
The priority on the ticket was switched from minor to major. With any luck this should be resolved with the final 1.5 release.

Are you sure the space is being added by Zotero? Is the space already there in the RIS file?
