Generally these issues stem from either being in the wrong Firefox profile, or Zotero looking in the wrong place for your data. Here are two things to try. 1. Make sure you are in the correct Firefox Profile: Occasionally when upgrading Firefox c…

COinS is not as robust as the MARC records. As I understand it the best of both worlds would be to serve up your MARC records via UnAPI, which would give you the stability of COinS with the data robustness of MARC. If your unfamiliar with UnAPI chec…

If I understand you correctly you have written a translator for this site but it has not been distributed. If this is the case you need to attach the translator to a message on the Zotero dev list.

Confirmed. It looks to me like the editor should not appear in the second spot when there is no author, but when a author is present the editor's name should appear in the second position. I did not see any open tickets for this so I created one.

This is an issue with Springerlink's data. The series, volume, and ISBN are not in the RIS file they generated.
-
Are you using Firefox 2 or 3? Some issues with reports may be resolved if you upgrade to 3.

I tried a few of the articles on PLoS Pathogens and while I did get the error message I also got the data and the attached file. Did you just get an error message? Or did you get an error message and the record?

When you click on one of the problem files try clicking on the "show folder" button at the top of the right pane. Do you see the file in your file system?

That is currently not possible with the word plug-in. Even if that was adopted there would still be the issue of creating a bibliography at the end of the document that contains all the references in both documents. For the time being the Word plugi…

Confirmed: This is happening with all records in the Library of Congress Catalog. It looks like Zotero is prioritizing field 955 instead when the call number information is in field 050. Ticket created. https://www.zotero.org/trac/ticket/1174

I just tried the search you recommended and I was able to successfully import the first page of search results without getting any strange characters. Can you try checking for updated translators and resetting your translators and styles.
-
The catalog you linked to is not Zotero compatible. While at this point most library catalogs are Zotero compatible there are still some built on different systems which are not Zotero enabled.
-
It is most likely not an issue of the number of records, but an issue with some of them being malformed. You can try breaking it into chunks to isolate the malformed records. If you do find the offending items please post them in the forums so we ca…

iboccia, before someone makes global changes to the Ieee style on these two issues could you provide links or quotes from an official style guide? Thanks

Heinonline is currently not working. There is an outstanding ticket. https://www.zotero.org/trac/ticket/968

Issue confirmed and ticket created. https://www.zotero.org/trac/ticket/1173

You can adjust it just as you would if it was text in Word. Just set the paragraph spacing for before or after the paragraphs through Words formatting features.
-
Is it a particularly large file? What happens if you break it into smaller chunks?
-
Can you try disabeling your other Firefox extensions, and for a variety of different reasons it is probably also a good idea to upgrade to Firefox 3.

This is a different but known issue. See the outstanding ticket here. https://www.zotero.org/trac/ticket/1152

What kinds of fields do you need for this beyond the fields available in something like document.

There are currently two tools for editing CSLs. Zotero comes with a tool for live preview of edits to CSL files. If you paste chrome://zotero/content/tools/csledit.xul into your location bar you can see this tool. You can use this tool to load up ex…

1. Generally when this happens it is the result of some malformed fields or missing chunks of information in some of the records in the file. If you can isolate the problematic items feel free to post them here so we can diagnose what the issue is. …

Could you explain a bit more about how moving your Zotero collection failed? Keep in mind that switching the location of your data directory from Zotero's preferences does not move your collection, it simply tells Zotero to look in a different loc…

CB, you can edit the list of proxies from the new proxies tab in the preferences pane.
-
Yes, in that case you want to use suppress author. Note: Zotero does support all the footnote varieties of CMS as well.

While there is not a specific screencast on Zotero's drag and drop bibliography capabilities you can see it in action in the "Zotero and Google Tools" cast. That said, I will add better documenting these quick copy and drag and drop functions to m…

It is not ideal, but you can always use the full name box instead of the First and Last name boxes. You can toggle back and forth between the two by clicking on the white box to the right of an author's name.
