The pubmed translator has been updated and this issue should now be resolved. Your copy of Zotero should auto-update within 24 hours, or you can update manually by clicking Update Now in the General pane of the Zotero prefs. You can reach the pre…

@Scot: There are probably a few ways to handle this. While emcul's example is really the reason why we want more relationship/hierarchical data relationships I do think it would resolve his issue. Your right that it depends on the specific case. If …

The first answer is that Zotero 1.5 will make this much simpler. Users will simply login through the Zotero client, pull down their collections, add to and edit their collection and automatically save back into their account. With the current rele…

There is currently no really clean way to do this. There are plans for more hierarchical item relationships which could resolve this, but for the time being you will need to manually edit this reference in your project.

On the first issue Zotero should be using the default style for the bibliography. Instead of changing the the formatting on individual entries try changing the style globally in word. Issues involving abbreviated names generally come from having o…

Yes I don't see what more you need beyond what Journal Article offers. You can even use the field "Reviewed Author" to add the name of the author of the reviewed work.

There is an outstanding ticket for PNAS. https://www.zotero.org/trac/ticket/1170 For the time being you can use the "Export to Endnote" function to get the full article info into your Zotero collection.

Ticket created. https://www.zotero.org/trac/ticket/1242 For the time being you can use ACS's "Export to Endnote" function to save resources to Zotero.

@ftr Your mention of PDF's throws me for a loop. Are you talking about slowing down OO or Firefox? If you are talking about OO the new plugin for Zotero 1.5 should resolve a lot of these issues. If your talking about Firefox please take this to anot…

You can use any of the existing portable solutions with 1.5. In some cases you will just want to remove your username and password from the preference pane in Zotero so that your not double syncing.

Thanks for the feedback. I have incorporated some suggestions. - added brief mention of cslpreview - added a bit of text explaining what CSL is - added a paragraph about Independent vs. dependent styles - added some of scot's text to the 'Difference…

With this conversation in mind I have drafted up a page with instructions for requesting styles. When you have a few moments give it a look and post feedback here.

The highlight function in timelines only works on the text you can see in the timeline, which translates into it only working on titles. There is no way to format the entries differently. If there was though, it could solve the first request.

Shared collections will be a part of Zotero in the future, but it will most likely take a while. If you and your colleagues want to share your entire libraries you can all use a single account in Zotero 1.5 sync preview. If you do decide to do this…

I might be able to help with the first part. Even if you don't understand javascript the RIS translator's code makes a considerable amount of sense. You can see what fields become what and the comments do a nice job explaining why Zotero does what i…

There is already a way to do something like what you are proposing. Instead of highlighting these snippets on archived pages try pasting them into notes. In some cases you can just select text on web pages, right click, and chose "Create Zotero It…

Can you post URLs for pages that don't work?

At this point Zotero does not offer strong support for legal research databases, largely because the development team does not have reliable access to them. There is a translator for Hein Online, but it is broken and awaiting a fix. The dev team d…

You can always manually edit the .txt to .ris What is important is that the exported file more or less conforms to the RIS spec. If you open the exported file it should look more or less like this. If it looks like that, just manually switch .txt …

The number of items in your collection should be irrelevant. Some users have more than 20,000 records in their collections without experiencing these kind of issues. Can you reproduce this problem? Does it happen after saving several items in rapi…

Bug confirmed and ticket created. https://www.zotero.org/trac/ticket/1226 For the time being you can save references to your clipboard in ERIC and then export them as a .ris file. You can then import that RIS file into Zotero. It takes a few more s…

The journal and the news site look to be significantly different, different enough that they may well require distinct translators.

Hmm, not sure about this. I grabbed a few different linked in profiles, both with the "Create new item from current page" button and the "Link to page" button. In both situations I either archived the page I wanted to look at or got a working link…

The problems with EBSCO seem to be erratic. For example I just successfully grabbed several different articles. While we sort out the issue you can use the "Export to reference manager button" and select "Direct Export to EndNote, ProCite, or Refere…
