Is your status bar visible at the bottom of your screen? If not try the view drowdown from your Firefox menu and make sure that there is a check next to status bar. On the second issue, grabbing items from the web, what sites have you tried to gra…

There are reoccurring conversations on customizing item types, but if custom item types do come it wont be for quite some time. If you are particularly passionate about creating a edition item type your best bet would be to lobby for it here in the …

That feature is controlled by the individual citation styles. Try looking for a style that better fits your needs.

There are several other keyboard shortcuts. See http://www.zotero.org/support/keyboard_shortcuts But I don't believe there is a shortcut for either capturing items from the location bar or creating an item from current page. If there is consensus t…

I played around with it and it looks like the issue has to do with the version numbers. When I dropped v1 and v2 from the end of the URLs I could capture the items. http://arxiv.org/abs/0809.0399 http://arxiv.org/abs/0809.1999 I opened a ticket…

You should be able to switch citation styles after the fact. Which version of the plugin and which version of Zotero are you using.
-
Zotero automatically keeps track of date added and last date modified for notes. You can view and sort by that data by adding date added and data modified to the center column. Does that take care of your request, or are you thinking of something di…

Thanks for your work on this issue! I added a link to the trac ticket. https://www.zotero.org/trac/ticket/1242

Thanks for your work on this! I added a link to this thread to the existing ticket. https://www.zotero.org/trac/ticket/1243 Once someone from the dev team has a chance to test it we can push it out.

1. Can you provide some specific examples with functional links for this behavior. 2. Zotero already renames captured PDFs. See this thread. http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/199/renaming-pdf/ . Zotero can only store PDFs inside the storage fold…

There is an open ticket for this. https://www.zotero.org/trac/ticket/1173 Until that gets fixed you can just tell Informaworld that you want to download the citation to Endnote and Zotero will intercept it.

It looks like this is actually an issue with the full text HTML view of articles on the Institute of Physics's site. Search results and abstract pages work just fine. See http://www.iop.org/EJ/abstract/1748-9326/3/3/034001 I have opened a ticket fo…

You're right, journal article is your best fit for special issue. Have you tried Conference Paper for your proceedings papers?

Sync time is completely dependent on how much data you are syncing. If you have a large set of files it could take some time. With that noted only your initial sync up and down should be the only times that it takes this long.

Zotero's BibTex import can bring in attached PDFs, they just need to be formatted like this. In BibTex: pdf={/full/path/to/file.pdf}
-
The problem in this case is how Ingenta is formatting their data. They are placing that [1] in the author name field for their RIS export, which means that any tool that tries to import the bibliography will end up with the same issue.

Issue confirmed. Ticket created. https://www.zotero.org/trac/ticket/1271

yep, no worries.

You can cut out the dependent styles out to cut down the list by unclicking the Show Dependent Styles check box.

Ticket created for the PROLA translator. https://www.zotero.org/trac/ticket/1266

There are new word plugins for 1.5, so if you are comfortable with using 1.5 you can just use those. See the section on word processor plugins at http://www.zotero.org/support/sync_preview to download the new plugin.

To my knowledge no one has taken a look at making a translator for Scribd so far. I opened a ticket for it https://www.zotero.org/trac/ticket/1263

Can you try disabling your other add-ons and restarting Firefox?

If I follow, you're asking if you could put the same subcollection in multiple places. You can already get this sort of behavior with tags and the tag selector. You can also mimic this behavior through a saved search. For example if you create a sea…

The difficulty here is that, in most cases, there is no structured metadata for those references. In many cases the articles you are looking at just have plain text for those citations, if they are in pdf's it could be even less than that. See this …

A few questions. Did you duplicate the item and drag it into these other locations, or did you simply drag it into a few folders? Also are you using basic or advanced search?
-
I don't think this should be a problem. If you are running portable Firefox it should be able to find info within its own profile, your Zotero data is stored in the same place as Firefox bookmarks and such. Have you tried this already? Because it sh…

@ dperkel I prefer the multiple profile approachn as well. As an added plus you can set up different profiles for different collections with other different addons. You can also run multiple Firefox profiles at the same time. So if you go with profi…

You can open up the exported RIS file in a text editor to see if the info is being exported from Zotero or if it is being ignored in RIS. Its possible that RIS does not support date access dates. You can see the full RIS spec here http://www.refman.…
