Thanks for taking the time to layout difficulties you had with the documentation. Since the “Automatically take snapshots when creating items from web pages” preferences is checked by default I take your request to be to better document the “Automa…

I agree that this would be really neat, but in my experience this sort of thing ends up producing such deeply flawed data that while at first glance looks impressive and flashy tends to just stick a bunch of junk in your database. It could be a neat…

Which version of word is this happening to you in? Drag and drop should just paste over the rich text for your reference. I just tried it in Word 2008 and it worked as designed.

Different sites "Export to Endnote" buttons do different things. Zotero will automatically intercept some of them. Open up the .CIF file with a text editor, if it looks like RIS or BibTeX you can probably just rename the file and import it into Zote…

This has been discussed/requested before. See: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/1473 http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/2238 http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/3652

Can't replicate this. Are the notes independent or attached to the items?
-
For starters try clearing out any proxies in the proxies tab of your preference pane. You might also try unchecking the preferences in the proxies tab.
-
tinyMCE's insert symbol features just generates HTML for the symbol. You can stick in any sort of character you want in your notes, for example try pasting these two in. (Æ ñ) If you are using a Mac you can make use of their character palette. I w…

Ok, the "Automatically take snapshots when creating items from web pages" preference attaches snapshots to pages you create when you click the "Create New Item From Current Page" button. It is not related to the icon in the location bar. The "Create…

I can't duplicate this. Which item gets deleted or duplicated, the one you were clicked on or the one you were trying to click on?

Thanks for reporting this. Ticket created.

For starters read up on how data is stored in Zotero. You have a few different options: 1. Have your users use Zotero 1.5, which allows them to sync their data through a free Zotero account from the computers you use to any other computer. 2. Ha…

I'm not completely sure what you are asking. What do you mean, "Whereas they have locally"? Zotero's notes get their name from the first line of text in the note. If you start a note with a blank line your note will not have a title.
-
You will want to check the "Automatically attach associated PDFs and other files when saving items" preference. You can read about that preference here.

For JSTOR and SSRN try to find a pattern. Do the URLs look different, are you accessing them through a proxy? Zotero runs in whatever language Firefox is set to. To change your firefox language type About:config into your location bar. Search for …

I don't think there is going to be an easy way to do this. The best way to ensure that you get the most accurate data would be to download each RIS file and PDF, import the RIS file and then drag the PDF onto the RIS file. Alternatively you coul…

I just re-downloaded without any trouble. You might just try downloading it again, if you still have trouble see our info on issues with installation.

There is no easy way to delete all your tags. With that said lmullen describes a way to directly edit your database inthe other thread you posted in. If you do decide to try that approach, be sure to back up your database first.

Please post problem links for items that are not working. Also see this thread for other Ovid issues.

Just to be sure, cricketbird, is your automatically attach associated PDFs preference on?
-
I have opened a ticket for this issue. https://www.zotero.org/trac/ticket/1413 For the time being you can right click on the link to the PDF, select "Save as Zotero snapshot" and then drag the snapshot onto the item record in your Zotero collection.

Yes, you can export data as Zotero RDF from Zotero 1.5 and import it into Zotero 1.0.9. There might be a little bit of data loss but it should work.
-
Did this start happening immediately after you upgraded? Does switching between different styles in the export tab of the preferences do anything?
-
Thanks I've added them to the ticket.

Are you sure you want to cite this as an online article? Generally authors and publishers would prefer to cite the print version over a web reproduction of the print version. If you really want the URL to come through you can uncheck the "include …

How big of a file is it? Try just breaking off the first two or three records and importing those. If that fails post that chunk to the forums.

I had no trouble pulling in a few items from Proquest with 1.5. Can you run through the troubleshooting translators process and report back.
-
There are a few things that could be happening. Take a look at this and report back if the issue persists. http://www.zotero.org/support/kb/no_status_bar_icon

There is a ticket for this feature.

Thanks for reporting this. There is already a discussion on the topic and a ticket. If you have anything to add, like other examples of catalogs using encore, please post in the other thread.
