Yeah. That's apparently it. Used 7z to extract instead of tar. Executable with tar, not executable with 7z for whatever reason.

I downloaded the latest tarball and just extracted it. Same issue on two different Ubuntu-based PCs. chmod +x resolved the issue instantly in both cases.

And I fixed it by adding execute permission :D
