I am just now having this error message. Restarting has had no effect. I am on a mac OS X 10.6.8 using Firefox 17.01 with Zotero 3.0.11 and Zotero Word for Mac integration 3.5.6. I can no longer add any citations to my document.

I have discovered my error. At some point I changed the document preferences in Zotero from using format of fields to bookmarking. I have now changed it back and life is good again. Silly me.
