I have Zotero version 3.0.1 installed. But at first Firefox warned me that Zotero 3.0.1 was incompatible with the new Firefox update (10.1.1). But it isn't (see my last post).
-
Just checked it again, a few minutes later, and it's now compatible. :)
-
There should be grant money available for this worthy project... :)

I second, third, and fourth that thought (see bigbird7821's entry above, and my previous comments). I'm writing my MA thesis on usability of a taxonomy-driven intranet. A renewed VUE plug-in would be extremely valuable for my work. Zotero and Vue …

Good news! Zotero is now loading. Cause: unknown.
-
It did create a new data directory (appparently), but can't load data, because Zotero can't open in Firefox.
-
I meant Zotero library, apologies: http://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_data#locating_your_zotero_library. Yes, the Firefox directory regenerated, and Zotero still wouldn't open. I disabled all other Firefox extensions and found that the proble…

I disabled anti-virus and firewall protection (alternatingly), closed and opened Firefox, and Zotero still didn't open. Then I uninstalled Zotero and re-started Firefox. I deleted my Zotero profile information in Firefox. Then I re-installed Zoter…

The Ingenta Connect translator is not working as of 9/1/10.
-
IEEE Explore still doesn't work as of 9/1/10. Is there a target date for completing this translator? It's one of the databases I use most frequently.
-
ajlyon, The information that you suggest I view is very elementary. I have been using Zotero for all type of general websites with rtf-encoded icons for over two years. In fact I authored a help file for Zotero which users have found useful. In …

@Dan Stillman - Timestamp says: "lastUpdated":"2010-08-23 07:23:41" I assume that that is the latest version. @ajlyon, The way that ERIC operates if you want to import multiple files is to have you check off which files you want to import i…
-
@ajlyon, I re-formatted the translator with the new information as you suggested, even though when I copied the new translator over to the appropriate directory a couple of days ago Windows Vista asked me if I wanted to replace the existing file w…

@ajlyon - There are 3 instances of the word "clipboard" in the ERIC translator text, so the answer to your question is "yes": string="http://eric.ed.gov/ERICWebPortal/custom/portlets/clipboard/performExport.jsp"; var idpath='//a[img[@width="64…

ajlyon - I am not using a proxy. URL when using the ERIC clipboard is http://eric.ed.gov/ERICWebPortal/search/clipboard.jsp?searchtype=basic&pageSize=10&ERICExtSearch_SearchValue_0="semantic+web"&eric_displayStartCount=1&am…

Adam Smith - Do you mean "clipboard" the way ERIC defines it - "My Clipboard is a temporary work area only. Records added to My Clipboard will be stored in the browser as cookies. To save Clipboard records permanently for future use, select the "S…

@ajlyon - Yes - * I re-downloaded the translator. * I re-loaded the pages (even re-started my computer) When I download a file through the "export citations" link in an ERIC folder, I get the same perpetual green line from left to right with no…
-
Ajlyon -- sorry to say, but there is no folder or other related icon visible in the tool bar when I'm viewing a clipboard (with multiple items) or folder (with multiple items).
-
Adam Smith -- I see what you're saying (2 posts ago). This is how I revised it, and it worked: * In ERIC, do a search http://eric.ed.gov/ERICWebPortal/search/basic.jsp * Show an appropriate number of results per page (upper left) * C…

@adamsmith -- ERIC operates differently from what you describe for export of multiple citations -- it does not work with icons in the toolbar. It works with a "clipboard" interface. I made a screen shot of the interface with the link highlighted tha…

ajlyon, I tried what you wrote in your post of 8/22/10, and it doesn't work except if I change the file extension ".ris" to ".txt," exactly the same as before (see my posts dated 2/12/10). The .ris version acted exactly as it did before. The gre…

I'm curious as to whether a solution is being worked on that will solve the problems between Zotero and Eric. Another academic year will be starting soon, and it would be great if professional educators and students could have full use of Zotero wit…

1) Disable auto-sync in the Sync pane of the Zotero preferences, 2) restart Firefox, 3) attempt the import before doing anything else, and 4) then immediately send in an error report and provide the Report ID here. I completed 1, 2 and 3, but am…

Tjowens, Eric files won't import to Zotero running in Firefox for me except if I change the .ris suffix to .txt . It has been that way consistently ever since I started using Zotero, about 2 years ago. My platform is Windows Vista. All of my…

In order to help Zotero users who report challenges in working with eric.ed.gov (otherwise known as "Eric") in Firefox, I am posting the following: SUMMARY OF HOW TO WORK WITH ERIC CITATIONS IN ZOTERO: * Save references into a "clipboard" in Er…

Another issue remains with Eric. When I go to "My Eric," then "My Saved Folder," then go to "Export Citations," I am given two download formats to choose from (next text is from the Eric site, I have added the numbers): _______ Select a file typ…

I tried your link. It didn't work, and then finally did on the fourth attempt. When it didn't work, a red frame appeared, was blank for about 20 seconds, and then issued an error message and link to known translator errors. Is this a timeout? If…

FYI: I'm using Windows Vista and Firefox 3.5.7 (have not updated so I can retain function of Vue plugin).
-
I'm sorry, I meant the green line that goes from left to right when items are being imported.
-
That's interesting - I just saved the text file to my desktop without an extension. It imported beautifully. Apparently Zotero will not import files with an .ris extension. But text files with no extensions work fine.
