Right, thanks I should delete or close the other one, but did not find out how you do this

I tried changing the custom location in Zotfile Preferences and then renaming a file (and I can see it works for multiple files, so I could move my whole library at once). The PDF synced alright to the Google Drive/Zotero directory on my other compu…

oops, sorry, what was that about the Zotfile source folder? I thought the idea was that by enabling that anything I downloaded through Zotero gets immediately renamed and moved, so that's not what it does?
-
right, thanks, this should do it

or maybe not, because the pdfs in my Dropbox folders are linked files, not attached files?
-
right, but then I would be uploading my whole pdf file connection, wouldn't I, and exceeding my 300 meg limit?

Ok, I deleted the translator's directory and it worked, everything's back.
-
Oops. It started all over again, even with the firewall disabled. I'll try deleting the translators' directory.

It worked. I turned off Windows Firewall and this time did not get the error. I then exited Firefox, turned the firewall on again and opened Firefox, and everything still worked. Thank you guys so much for all your help.

And I should describe the problem: Zotero loads, I see my directories but my files do not show, and I get the message: there was an error starting zotero. I still have access to the menus and was able to run the error report wizard, but cannot acces…

The bad news is that the image is lost in synchronization, which is another featured I need. I guess I'll have to use attached Word files instead of notes when I need images.
-
I just found a workaround. I opened the .png image with Firefox and dragged the image into the note from there. It seems to work like a charm. Since the file sizes are so small, hopefully if I use moderation and only paste glyphs into my text when r…

The image is only 1.4 kb, line drawings of an Egyptian word produced with a hieroglyph editor (JSesh). I am an Egyptologist and need to include Egyptian words in my notes, as part of a sentence written in English. Direct copying of an image from thi…

Found it by trial and error, and it works. Thanks again.

You're right, it did work.

But if I did that I suppose I would get the following: W.M.F.Petrie, whereas what I want is W.M.F. Petrie. Maybe I should add another instruction to add a space before the author's last name?
-
That was fast! Actually I needed the initial for the first citation, so I figured I should make the change you suggested to the "contributors-note" macro. Well, what do you know, it worked. Middle name initial of course gets a space in front of it, …
