Everything is working fine for me on my dev machine with Java 7 Update 5, so this is probably not a general issue. However, I don't have any unique insight into troubleshooting Java issues on Windows.

There are no plans for a connector for Opera. We do have plans for a cross-browser bookmarklet that may work in Opera. That should be released in the next few weeks.
-
It's an OOo issue. Unless you're wedded to OpenOffice.org, try LibreOffice. It may work better.
-
This would be great. However, the main barrier to implementation is that LibreOffice can't save or read Word fields. I don't expect this to be fixed anytime soon.
-
We were aware that this wouldn't work, although we didn't know exactly what would happen. Mozilla dropped support for Windows 2000 (and Windows XP

You have to select the version of the reference from your group library (not your "My Library"). Alternatively, you can check the box in the document preferences window that says "Store references in document," but then other users won't be able to …
-
I'm referring to the icon to the left of the reference title in the "Saving Items..." box that appears in the bottom-right corner of your screen after you click the URL bar icon.
-
In the Chrome and Safari connectors, if the reference hasn't been added yet, the icon on the left will appear grayed out. When the icon turns fully opaque, the item has been added. (When Zotero Standalone is open, item saving happens nearly instanta…

Try uninstalling OpenOffice.org and installing LibreOffice instead. OpenOffice.org has some trouble with newer versions of Java, and most of the developers have moved to LibreOffice.
-
Unfortunately, not really. It sounds like you've already tried reinstalling Word, so maybe try moving your entire Office 2011 preferences folder to the desktop and see if that makes a difference. We've heard of this happening once before, but I'm no…

First, make sure Zotero is enabled in Tools->Add-ons->Extensions. If it is, see http://www.zotero.org/support/kb/no_address_bar_icon

The error is: [JavaScript Error: "value is undefined" {file: "chrome://zotero/content/xpcom/citeproc.js" line: 4804}]

You need to set both Zotero for Firefox and Zotero Standalone to use the same data directory. You can see the data directory by clicking the "Show Data Directory" button in the advanced pane of the Zotero preferences. Based on what you say here, bot…

Provide a report ID after re-triggering the error.

It's definitely compatible, and marked as such. Either you are trying to install the plugin on a Mac or an unofficial Firefox release, you are trying to install an old version of the plugin, or there's a problem with your Firefox installation. In th…

Would you mind sending the file to support@zotero.org so that we can take a look? If you'd prefer not to, follow the instructions here.
-
First, if you haven't already, make sure you have the latest release of Office 2011. Also, if you have accented characters in the path to the Word application (e.g., in your hard drive name), try removing those. If neither of these steps fix things…

Assuming your previous issue is resolved, see "Suppress Authors: Using Authors in the Text" here.
-
Neither of these things should happen. Is there anything special about the location where you're inserting a citation?

If you can send the document to support@zotero.org, I'll take a look. If you'd rather not send it, try the steps on the debugging broken documents page.
-
Is there anything strange about the location in which you're trying to insert the note? Does this happen in a new document? What versions of Word, Zotero, and Zotero Word for Mac Integration do you have?

edit delete Thanks Dan for the response. To test your theory, I just made a new library out of dropbox folder and added two new items and attached their PDFs to them. checked the storage folder on my hard disk and every thing was fine, I had two i…

Type "p. 25" or "p 25" or ":25" after the citation, where 25 is replaced by a page number. See http://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_usage#keyboard_commands

What do you mean by automating GS lookup? Currently the script calls firefox to navigate to the GS results. What I mean is that, at the moment, it would be very painful to test this on a large set of PDFs. You'd end up having to go through n Firefox…
-
Nothing that would affect this has changed in Zotero. The only things I am aware of that can potentially cause this are a Click-to-Run version of Word, or running Word or Firefox as administrator or in a compatibility mode. It also seems possible t…

I played around with your bash script a little. Zotero did marginally better with the 5 test PDFs I tried (3 correct detections, 1 false positive, 1 miss vs. 2 correct detections, 1 false positive, 2 misses) but the sample size is very small and Zot…
