This is for a PhD thesis. And right now, the bibliography looks a mess, like coming across someone smiling with teeth missing. I want my work to be tidy looking! :)

Hooray! I've bodged it!! On a blank line, right at the start of the doc, I've added the 3 citations in the correct order then made the font typeface white hence invisible. Now the order is 1-2-3 !

Next idea - Revert AOO 4.1.3 (latest, installed 2 weeks ago or so) to 4.1.2 (used to write the thesis). Repeat erase citations and re-insert. Result: No change. Next idea: dive into the .odt file (by making it a .zip and unzipping it) and look in …

:) No, the figure captions are changing. But are wrong; it looks now like a different issue. I've pulled all the levers to hand - refreshed, inserted new captions, refreshed all fields. I've spent an hour fiddling with this before coming to the fo…

I'm beginning to worry that if I write a big section (some take several weeks) and cite stuff, the cite sequence order is fixed in stone. Please tell me the cite sequence _does_ follow re-ordering of sections? Else, the only way to re-order is if …

@fbennett: citation style is IEEE; tho I don't see why others should not work. So I set up a Master doc in AOO using an academic template (a GPL one from Gerald Leppert) which I adjusted a bit to suit my Uni. Link: http://templates.openoffice.org/…

Hi guys, I do have comments (hopefully constructive) about use of Zotero (...my experience is with Standalone, don't know how this effects other versions). I recommend, so to improve usability with AOO Master docs, the following 1) in the Classic…

OK. Just gone to "refs at end of chapters" and it seems to be working OK. Now got several "[11]" in final .pdf - and they all ref the right documents! Will bear yr comments... but can report the new mode seems to work. Thanxs all

Hi bwiernik, ...your suggestion is what I described... I think. I'm keeping the doc split into sub-chapters as big documents have major issues esp. in Word. That's why I'm using OpenOffice - it can split docs and it comes out OK. However over many…

Hi, Now works by adding the TY group! No need for ER; EOF by itself is OK. That means I can write a script to prefix all my .ris with a TY group and import the lot! Thanks! :)
