Also, see this post by Simon https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/33013/installation-zotero-firefox--apache-open-offixe/#Item_26

Have you tried restarting your computer?
-
Did you, perhaps, paste the text without formatting (cmd+shift+option+v)? In Word 2013 this can be set as default behavior, not sure if that's the case for 2010
-
Wait, did you say the index is syncing with my online Zotero account?yes. But to be clear, you can disable it in Preferences -> Sync and it does _not_ count towards your storage quota.

So the only issue right now is that Google Scholar imports fail via Firefox? This really boils down to the issue you describe above One other thing that I've noticed is that I am unable to get the bibliography manager setting for Google Scholar is s…

Any chance that third party cookies are disabled in Chrome?

well, I wouldn't say it can't be done, but it's not simple. There's no structured metadata per se, but the metadata table at the top of each article can be parsed with some effort. I doubt any of us will get to this any time soon though.

see option 2 here: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/39751/synching-attachments-from-custom-location/#Item_2

Right, I understand special character escaping (which, to my knowledge, does not pertain to citekeys), but I've never seen any reference to question mark being problematic in a citekey. So I guess the real question is what are you using to parse the…
-
Could you point to a discussion where they mention that ? is problematic in keys (or that it needs to be escaped)? Discussion here suggests otherwise. In any case, the question marks will be added by the BibTeX translator if there is no date (so yo…

(Though Zotero wouldn't be _moving_ but copying the files, so _all_ PDFs should appear there and it would only need read permissions)
-
Saved page would be helpful, but some of us may have access to the paid resource anyway, so provide whatever link you see in your url bar.
-
Please provide links to some specific web pages that you expect to be able to import. If you can't provide a permalink, provide directions to navigate to such page.
-
I think using ZotFile's "send to tablet" feature is what you want here.
-
When you say that your had to clean up some stray characters, was that because Zotero exported them improperly (e.g. didn't escape or something like that)? If so, can you provide an example?
-
But you can sort of achieve selective sync of attachments by using ZotFile's (Zotero add-on) "send to tablet" functionality and a third party sync provider. On the tablet you would get a folder of PDFs that could be titled using metadata.
-
Also, we've never considered items with both DOI and ISBN, but obviously they exist. The ISBN would able to retrieve metadata for this item actually. I'm working on a fix for this as well.
-
This will save the page in the "abstract" field Not entirely sure how this would happen, since the official Zotero translator for Readability doesn't populate the abstract field at all (do you have a custom translator?), but if it did, I would be co…

Should be fixed now. Update your translators via Preferences -> General -> Update Now and try again. Thanks for reporting! P.S. Java is in no way related to Zotero, which is mostly written in JavaScript (though confusion is understandable).

You have to change the setting in Zotero preferences under the Advanced tab -> Files and Folders first. It's not clear to me whether you are able to get to that setting or not though.
-
Yes, that Cyrillic folder name is likely the issue (I believe this should be fixed in an upcoming Zotero version, but maybe not the very next one). In any case, you can relocate your Zotero data directory to a different path that does not contain Cy…

Follow through the steps here https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/35161/can-not-sync-for-the-first-time/ (particularly, see if you have a secure connection to https://sync.zotero.org you should see a padlock in the url bar)

There are two mapping tables, one for import, one for export. I don't recall which one is which, but the general idea is as you describe. Though that table only applies if you're exporting in non-utf8 encoding.

Is this happening when looking at a single item, or when selecting from a list of multiples? In general, see https://www.zotero.org/support/troubleshooting_translator_issues We need you to provide more info (e.g. which article are you trying to sav…

There is very little going on on the Word side when using Zotero Word Add-in. Basically, if Zotero is able to find a running ZSA/Firefox instance (if not it will display an error message) it will send a message to that process. That's the extent of …

It's been discussed and generally agreed upon. There are certain technical challenges to overcome and development time to dedicate, but it will likely happen (though probably not very soon). See https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/zotero-dev/90i…

Proposed patch is here (should get merged soon): https://github.com/citation-style-language/styles/pull/1081 This might be a bit hard to learn from though, since I restructured the style a tiny bit, so the changes are not straightforward.
