This might actually be more problematic with proxies. We may have to revert the fix and go a different route that requires updating Connectors.

We're aware of this issue and there's a fix pending review. Unfortunately, it requires an updates Zotero Connector, which means that it will take somewhat longer to release. Thank you for reporting.

How exactly are you downloading? What browser? Which Zotero (Standalone/Firefox)? Where are you checking (zotero.org, Zotero Standalone, Firefox)?

You can try https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/portable_firefox for Firefox-based Zotero. I'm not aware that anyone has done a portable Standalone installation. It may be possible though.
