@adamsmith I pushed a patch last night, was hoping to post about it here once it got merged. My solution was to use BibTeX. It exports titles correctly and it exports creator roles. Though, we will have to tweak the logic in the RIS translator as w…

The fixed translator is up. You can wait for it to auto update within 24 hours or update immediately via Zotero preferences. Let us know if the problem persists. I didn't test it behind a proxy, so if it only does not work behind a proxy, start ano…

A fix for this has been submitted, will let you know when it's available for download.

I was considering using the export feature, but I can't find an easy way to manipulate it into doing what we want, so I guess never mind.
-
I'll take a look at it. It will probably get done by tomorrow
-
It's sort of Taylor & Francis's fault, since their RIS export contains abstract in both AB and N2 fields, which we merge. @adamsmith I submitted a patch at https://github.com/zotero/translators/pull/289 Maybe you have a nicer solution.

I was comparing the two sites and trying to hack my way to the MARC export format, but it looks like it's not supported on the univ-metz.fr website. @adamsmith do you suppose it would be ok to try and fall back to other formats? like RIS (EndNote/r…

A fixed version of the translator is now up. You can wait for Zotero to update it automatically within 24 hours our you can update immediately from Zotero preferences

Looks like we're not handling this properly when google scholar is accessed through a proxy. I can reproduce this on my computer as well. Will let you know when the fix is up.

There is a new DOI translator that is almost ready to be released to the general public. It should significantly speed things up and possibly allow you to retrieve more articles. BUT.... It will not solve your problem, because as I said before ret…
-
Using the folder icon in my address bar brings up a list of items, but when I click one article to retrieve, it either doesn't work or is happening so slowly that it's not worth doing it this way. That is very odd, since almost all metadata should a…

I'm trying to figure out why adding and removing a tag on an item did not purge the orphaned tags after: A) restarting Zotero and B) performing a sync (I didn't do a reset that time, I did a sync) I think I may know why, but I just want to make …
-
How may I recreate the orphaned tags?
-
This might be a pretty dumb question and everyone else seems to understand this, but... 1) What is red vs yellow? 2) What does the asterisk indicate (i.e. the one next to Google Scholar) Lastly, I can see that since Google Scholar has been updat…

Maybe there's a way to trick xulrunner into thinking it's being run from a different directory, but I would have to take a closer look at that later. My bash isn't that great, but here's a little script that should work. Place this in the same direc…

and when it's set orphaned tags are automatically purged when you sync—you just weren't doing that. Well, yes and no. I didn't do a proper sync for debug id D1403778640, but I was doing sync previously after adding and deleting tags. Is there a way…

Sorry for the double post. I made a tutorial of what we have currently (perhaps the translator will change locations or be updated elsewhere). Hope it is helpful to someone. I thought it might be nice to summarize the process. I tried making it into…

P.S. I also screwed up that last update. GEN is now mapped to Document, which is no better than Presentation. I will update it to Journal Article, so that we preserve as many fields as possible. I'm thinking of adding a tag when we encounter GEN, so…

@adamsmith - I would love to be able to handle this inside a script, but it just gets so messy when you have cases like two T2 fields. Idk, I think we can come up with some logic like if publication/book title is already set and there is no title, …
-
This is happening because both Analytic and Monographic titles are placed in T2 instead of T1 and T2 respectively. This is probably best fixed in the ProCite RIS export style. Fairly simple to do: Open up the RIS-EndNote style in ProCite as previou…

Ah, sorry, that was my bad. It was not really a sync. I was doing a reset to Zotero server, but I see now what those hidden options are supposed to do. I redid this with a proper sync and it cleared the ghost tags. (If you still want to see it, the…

1) Trash was empty 2) Debug ID D1403778640

That did not fix it. EDIT: There are no tags displayed in library root either, but I did create and delete tags a couple tags and then restarted Zotero. Ghost tags still remain. At this point Zotero is up to date, btw.
-
For reference, this is the fix in xulrunner-stub that's causing the problem. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=650237 the easiest solution that I can think of is to add Zotero directory to your path. The point is that application.ini has…

You're talking about the tags list on the bottom left, right? "No tags to display" even though I'm in a collection where all the items are. This kinda makes sense, since that list only displays tags associated with items in the current view.

adamsmith beat me to it, but I was in the middle of this post, so I'll post it anyway. What you are describing is a proxy and not a VPN. When you connect to the VPN (and you have not changed the default Windows settings) a connection is establish…
-
I'm also a little confused as to why you need to use Zotero's proxy redirection when you're already connected to your university's VPN. Once you're connected to the VPN all traffic is going through your school's routers (that's not necessarily true…

I updated the translator with some modified item type mappings. It should yield better results. If you have not re-exported your ProCite library using the modified Book Long Form style, you will notice a lot of chapters missing titles. You should b…

How long did it take you to import all the items? Just curious if this computer isn't working well. Does a zotero rdf usually load faster (like this one takes a while because the translator is hard at work)? Took me about 2.5 minutes using Zotero F…

I just ran your entire file through the translator. That pop-up came up about 15 or so times, but if you keep clicking continue, you will eventually get through it all. After the translation, I did not see any errors and it managed to import all 47…
