We would need the URL to the page you are saving from. Preferably exactly as you see it. Also, please run through the steps here: http://www.zotero.org/support/troubleshooting_translator_issues Particularly steps 3-7 and 12 Please post any relevant…

If it is used as an additional parameter (so that, say, whether "Run, C.J." and "Run, C. Jane" are distinguished depends on whether they share the same ORCID), the behaviour might be challenging to implement and to explain. To solve the disambiguati…

this whole issue could just magically disappear if we started using ORCID. Obviously easier said than done :-)

Update your translators (Preferences -> General -> Update Now) and try now. Should be fixed. We generally recommend using the URL bar icon for importing metadata over the "Retrieve Metadata" functionality. 99 times out of 100 your results sho…

Any idea why that would be the case? The language sounds like it was an intentional decision, but the reason for it is not obvious (to me anyway)

Ideally Zotero should not be picking up false positives (by definition). What two items are being identified as duplicates that are not? Can you export those two items as Zotero RDF and post the exported data to http://gist.github.com ? How many fa…

It works for me, but according to the spec (if I'm reading it right), it should not. The optional cs:label element (see label) must be included after the cs:name and cs:et-al elements, but before the cs:substitute element. http://citationstyles.org/…

It should only be syncing when you make changes. If it's trying to sync all the time, there's another issue at hand. To be clear, do you mean that the sync arrow is constantly spinning? If so, what does it say when you hover over it?
-
Looks like that was an intentional decision to put arXiv identifier in the publication field. But it dates back over 5 years, so maybe the reasoning no longer applies. I'll wait for Simon or adamsmith to pitch in before changing this.

With no browser open, I tried looking up a bookDo you mean you're using the green right arrow that says Locate?

As I mentioned above, probably the most appropriate field for LCCN right now is the Call Number field. The Library Catalog would then be "Library of Congress"
-
Reason I asked is because I was looking at results from the search here: http://www.loc.gov/index.html which look like http://lccn.loc.gov/56011373 and we don't have a translator for them. If there was a dedicated LOC translator, we could add LCCN…

What's the URL you are importing from?

I see those options on Windows 7 actually. https://github.com/zotero/zotero/blob/master/chrome/content/zotero/zoteroPane.xul#L265 is not affected by https://github.com/zotero/zotero/blob/master/chrome/skin/default/zotero/standalone.css

For reference, some of the relevant discussion starts here: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/27282/incorrect-capitalization-in-chicago-with-multilingual/?Focus=143792#Comment_143792 Then there's Dan's comment here: https://forums.zotero.org/disc…

I think technically you would always be attaching a URL and not any other subset of what URI encompasses, so yes, I think what you suggest is right. I also think that "Link to URL" or "Link to URI" is a somewhat redundant statement. IMO "Attach a U…

I expanded the installation instructions on http://www.zotero.org/support/installation to include Zotero Standalone, Connectors, and Bookmarklet. It also gives an overview of what the differences are. It may be a bit verbose (or at least looks like …

yeah, whatever I said above made no sense. Anyway, I added instructions here: http://www.zotero.org/support/debug_output

In Chrome, go to chrome://extensions then open Zotero Options. Go to Advanced and click Update Translators. Refresh APA PsychNET page and see if that fixes it. If it doesn't fix it, on that same Advanced tab in Zotero options, there is a checkbox t…

Should be fixed now. Update translators in Zotero Standalone (Preferences -> General -> Update Now), restart Chrome and try again. let us know if there are further problems.
-
ok. i think I see the bug. we'll have this fixed shortly. Basically, Zotero was not recognizing that page as APA PsychNet. It was using the generic DOI translator to retrieve metadata. Unfortunately some articles do not have an entry on CrossRef (t…

what is the URL exactly as you see it?

sorry for the confusion. I should have linked to the safari section just under Standalone/Firefox. BTW, those instructions were quite difficult to find if you are looking for Safari _debug_ ID or log. It's actually referred to as Report ID. I'd sug…

see here: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/27934/logging-in-to-sync-server/

As adamsmith requested above, can you generate a report ID for an attempt to save the Springer Link page? We'd actually need the ID, NOT just the error that you see. https://www.zotero.org/support/reporting_bugs#provide_a_report_id

Zotero for chrome is not the same as Zotero for Firefox. there is no Zotero button on the bottom right. You can check if it's working by going to http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1604598913?ie=UTF8&force-full-site=1&ref_=aw_bottom_links You …

Do you have anything other than safari open? Zotero Standalone is a separate program. The safari plugin just helps Zotero Standalone communicate with the browser (technically it does more than that)
-
That makes more sense. I was actually thinking to myself that this would be the second report of something fishy going on with Chrome. Should pay more attention to names. @peterhindrup, if you think that you managed to install Zotero extension for …

Having covered the download part, I'm not convinced that you haven't already installed it. If you say that so downloaded v:4 clicking on the Chrome green button. it sounds to me like you already have the connector installed. If the button is green a…

You're just supposed to be choosing the folder. Open Zotero Standalone. Go to Preferences -> Advanced -> Files and Folders. Click on Show Data Directory. Copy the path to that directory. Close Zotero Standalone. In Firefox open Zotero. Go to …
