For an edition of Vitruvius I have entered original-date: 1826 in the Extra field. Original date is outputting for Chicago 17th author-date style but not for Chicago 17th Full note: Marcus Vitruvius Pollio. (1826) 1874. The Architecture of Marc…

Right – thanks @adamsmith It seems, however, that this means that I have to leave "Victor 4473 (Black label (popular) 10-in. single-faced)" out of the title field in the Encyclopedia type – else it also gets put at the beginning of the citation. S…

@Dan Stillman Yes, my 4shared was not set to https and https is supported. I changed the setting to https: still getting error code 0. I've written to 4shared support and copied your message above with the debug out put. Avaaz was not installed…

More detail: - Sync from my laptop on the same network seems to work fine: I added a pdf on the laptop and synced. No warning. I then synced the iMac and despite the same webdav error, the pdf I had added on the laptop showed up on the iMac. - f…

It has been going on for 36 hours. No security software on the computer (2011 iMac running Yosemite). I have turned off every FF plugin and extension except Zotero itself. No change in problem!

@ Dan Stillman, would really appreciate any help you could provide with this problem! Thanks.

Okay, I managed to get a copy of Office 2011 and did a custom install for just Visual Basic for Applications. I then restarted, then deleted the OLE database again and launched Word. I am still getting the same error message. New error report …

Having done some empirical checking, I've found more exceptions than I expected to the rule I was adamantly defending re exhibition titles needing to be ital ... In general, my sense of the distinction between being in quotes and being italicized,…

adamsmith, I follow your reasoning and it has its appeal. However, in all other cases – books, book chapters, articles of all kinds – Chicago is consistent in carrying over the treatment of titles in running text to those in citations and bibliogr…

It is important in art history to be able to cite an exhibition – and, in fact, it will become increasingly important across many fields because of the explosion of online exhibitions being created on the websites of archival collections. Consequent…

jflatnes, thanks for all of this technical insight, which is important to have laid out. I don't think I quite follow all of the implications, due to my own technical limitations. So I would greatly appreciate a few clarifications re the upshots. …

And here is the reply from Omeka regarding all the bibliography items appearing as "Documents" instead of their respective types: When importing bibliographic data into Omeka using the Zotero Import plugin, the bibliographic item type is represented…

Here are two examples of online bibliographies on the static end of the spectrum: The Ecomusicology Bibliography http://www.ecomusicology.info/resources/bibliography/ - this group opts for offering a PDF download, a link to view the Zotero website…

I've queried the Omeka people on both the Zotero import issue and also expanded it, thus: "In fact, since we would consider all the content on our site to be electronic scholarly publications – theme introductions, annotations, and virtual exhibit…

adamsmith, re the Franco American Library Omeka site: is that an issue with the Omeka platform, or just how these people have configured it for their site? In fact, I have yet to find an Omeka site where the library items work properly, or even wh…

Thanks – can you elucidate as to which id is associated with which library, or will it be obvious? Also, adamsmith, can you shed any light on my previous questions questions regarding the elimination of tags in a group library? thanks, ap

Here's a more pressing query about eliminating tags: I assume it is one zotero.sqlite file for both the personal library and any group libraries? So it possible to eliminated tags from a group library while not doing so to the personal library?

Being able to set up a feed for a specific collection is very helpful. However, I'm wondering if it is possible to set up notifications that are more complex – probably not, I imagine: We have a group library with about 14 members, each of whom i…

I have what is probably a dumb question regarding group libraries and eliminating the automatic tags by editing the Zotero sqlite database, as described in this thread. We have a group library with 18 members and 3000 items. For a long time the de…

Thanks @adamsmith. I'll see what I can do (I'm in Montreal and may be able to dig up some contacts). Yes, it used to work. Does that mean there used to be access to the MARC data, but then it became unavailable? Any idea why this would be? The…

Are there any plans for this – it would be extremely useful.

Updating to 4.0.3 solved the problem – thanks! However, despite add-ons being set to update automatically in Firefox on both my desktop and my MacBook, Zotero did not update on either system.
-
Okay. Is there a listserv or something for update notices and version notes?
-
No, I'm running 3.0.14. Was 4.0.3 an automatic update? When? Zotero appears in the Tools menu but returns the message: "There was an error starting Zotero."

Sorry, my mistake: I was accidentally using an outdated version of Chicago Full Note with Bibliography. Using Chicago (full note) 13-02-26, it functions properly. Thanks.

At present, archival collections cannot be properly included in a bibliography. Several years ago, erazlogo suggested correcting this – and some other more complex citation issues – with the addition of an "archival collection" item type: http://for…

Thanks – installing the branch xpi: http://www.zotero.org/support/dev_builds#zotero_30_branch resolved the problem for all three sources – Incongenta and Jstor, as well as Academic Search. ap
