Thanks. Yes, it goes into the right direction, but there are some details that are still not as they should be. 1) Chicago Note gives "Title of Journal" in quotation marks, but it should be without quotation marks, for books and journals. …

you are right - and: it worked!! sorry for my panicking questions. just one last question (probably stupid as well, sorry): it does not work with open office, right? (but: it does zotero work with the new word 2010?)
-
no, I need not only to "see" the directory but to be able to copy my old folder into the new one... so just "show data" is not enough.... I just have the impression lion is more complicated than the system before...
-
seems that the directry is invisible normally - anyone an idea how to make appear invisible directories in lion / max os x??

Trying to import my zotero library from my old PC to my brand new mac book air - hating the strange new structure on this thing - and not being able to find where to copy my zotero folder as this structure here: On a Mac: /Users//Library/Applicatio…

Good. But it is nevertheless complicated: I am working with Word 2003 on a PC now, and will have to change to Word 2008 or Word 2011 on a Mac..... Do you provide a manual online or are there any hints how to do this change - and to do it witho…

word 2003

it does not work. the program asks me to "insert a new foot note" first, and if I do this, all of my 30 pages bibliography disappear all of a sudden.... seems I either work with the grey fields or I loose the whole thing...
-
ok, got it. I'll do it like this. THANKS!
-
ok, interesting hint! I just checked this, I seem to use zotero 2.0.9 currently, plus the word processor integration 3.0b1. I should be finished with the phd in april - not a good timing to upgrade? what risks do I take if I do upgrade?
-
haha! yes.... probably right. just a sign how much I trust those kind of open-source-based software inventions with such great features like forums where people really DO answer very quickly. I did not solve one of my biggest problems with…
-
...ok, I am ashamed, I knew there should be a most easy "button" or something, I just did not find it.... thanks. (final phase of phd, completely not being able to think anymore...)
-
I just checked it - but the references that fail do appear sequentially in my bibliography.... (for the last three examples in the text I found out the error by myself now, in one case I put "editor" instead of "author", and now it works magically…

yes, ok, I'll do it right away. I will just copy-paste the passage in a fresh document and send it, ok?

zotero 2.0.9 firefox 3.6.10 word 2003 windows 7

I am sorry to bother again, but it kind of cannot be the problem of the citation-style. in the SAME document sometimes with two articles it DOES DO the a,b,c-thing and then with two other articles it just DOESN'T do it, regardless how often I refres…

nothing wrong with that, I would love to try but I seem to be too stupid to make it run properly. something with java is not working it seems, neither with MS then with ubuntu. plus: I already worked my footnotes into my documents with word. is…

sorry to intervene, BUT: Why was it so easy for me to change from MAC to PC (I just did it and also had hundreds of pdf files attached in my library) - and why does it seem so awfully complicated to change back to Mac again? (Asking because I wil…
-
ok, I found it out, it was my fault! you can delete this post! but thank you for thinking about it anyway! (-: (it was a Mac-PC problem... I was used to the way Mac opens pdf's and did nogt realize that Windows does it in another way... argh!!!)
-
ok, it WORKS!!!! (I followed the instructinos given below to copy the sqlite-file in a temporary folder on the desktop etc...) now I would just like to know 1. can I now delete the temporary folder on the desktop with the storage and the old…

ok, I found the directory, copied it there - but when I open firefox and zotero it does not open my library but is still empty! what do I do wrong? how do I make appear my entries in my new firefox??
-
So what I have to do is, copy the zotero file to this location: On Windows 7 and Windows Vista: C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\\zotero and then open firefox and it should work automatically? (Btw, up to know I did not find th…

great- I think now any possible case will be ok - I am quite impressed how fast you guys give answers in the forums! thanks!
-
"A patch has been submitted:" does that mean I can downoad this patch and install it somehow to solve the problem? if so, how? (sorry for not being a programming nerd, I'm just a simple phd student in humanities...)
-
good, but that does not solve the whole problem. sometimes I use a reference in a footnote-phrase - like that "as smith 2008, 60 has shown, bla bla..." isn't it just possible to have a style without a dot at the end?
-
ok, great. now the only annoying thing is that zotero always puts a dot behind the reference, like that: "smith 2008, 60." but very often I have to cite several books or articles and it is just grammatically incorrect to put dots inbetw…
-
yes - I want exactly that - to put it in the footnote! but I did not find "international organization" to chose from in the options. guess I have to download it seperately? but where?
-
ok, I upgraded to 2.0 and now the word extension seems to work, too! thanks!
-
right. so I guess I just need the information where to put the "zotero-doc"-file. what I did: I downloaded the dmg-file, opened it, but there was no automatic installation, only two files: an "drag here to install"-folder and a "zotero.doc"-…
