Have you tried restarting your computer? See if this helps https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_troubleshooting#communication_error_or_non-responsive_plugin_buttons

@fbennett there's a bug in current integration code with citations copied from other documents. I'm working on it.
-
Oh, sorry about that. The Word Plugin sometimes gets disabled and we haven't figured out why. In Zotero go to Tools -> Add-ons and enable the Word extension, then go into Preferences -> Cite -> Word Processors and reinstall the Word plugin.
-
Does it occur in a new document?
-
In Zotero go to Help -> Check for Updates and try again
-
You will need to update to Zotero 5.0 and reinstall the Mac Word addon from Preferences -> Cite -> Document Processors

Could you follow step 8 of debugging broken documents instructions and send a broken snippet to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread?

What version of Word are you using?

You should update LibreOffice to 5.4 or 6.0 and Zotero to 5.0, reinstall the plugin from Preferences -> Cite -> Word Processors. Then ensure that LibreOffice can see an installation of JDK https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_t…

Sorry for the trouble. We will have a fix out soon. In the meantime, this is caused by duplicating citations in a document (via copy and paste). If you have copied citations, you have to click "refresh" in the Zotero tab first before performing addi…

Could you follow step 8 of debugging broken document instructions, extract the smallest snippet that produces this problem and email it to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread?
-
Try pressing "refresh" at the top of the document first and then add the citation again. We will have a proper fix out for this shortly.

Have you tried restarting your Mac? Can you provide a Zotero startup Debug ID?

Try removing any Zotero citations from tables. I am not sure what the status of the document plugins working correctly in tables is, but it has caused issues before. The error you are seeing is occurring in code meant to handle table citations, but …

The error you are seeing is likely reliably reproducible. If you can identify and post the steps to make it occur either in a new document, or a specific Zotero item that causes the issue, we will fix it as soon as possible.

@HariHirsch Please follow the step 8 of debugging broken documents and send the snippet to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread.

How are you invoking the Zotero method from LibreOffice? The newest extension .oxt file does not contain an "ZoteroAddBibliography" method. This is what the extension interface should look like https://www.zotero.org/support/libreoffice_writer_plugi…

That's the standard behaviour of footnote/endnote citations. You cannot refer to the same note twice in the text (which is why terms like "Ibid" are required in the first place).
