If Zotero.dotm is not present on your computer at all after reinstalling Zotero then something is removing it. Avast could certainly be the culprit. You could try downloading the Zotero.dotm file directly, but if something's removing it from your co…

But you do not see Zotero.dotm in the Word Add-ins dialog, right? What security software are you running? You should disable any security software temporarily (windows defender is fine to keep), reinstall Zotero, go into Zotero Preferences -> Wor…

Yes,both are unchecked. What do you mean by "both"? If there is Zotero.dotm, (not Zotero.dot) have you tried checking it? If you restart Word does it get unchecked again? You should ignore Zotero.dot completely and remove it from Word startup folde…

Right, so bookmarks are a bit brittle, and typing on the border of citation might extend it by accident. Your best bet in the case of corrupted document is to change the document to reference marks and back to bookmarks and if it doesn't help follow…

See https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_troubleshooting#zotero_tab_does_not_appear_in_the_word_ribbon Do you see Zotero.dotm in the Word Add-Ins dialog?

Now available in the main Connector release

The Zotero add-on runs in LibreOffice fully, within an embedded Java Runtime, and we do not have general crashing reports on other distros or version of LO. Zotero only communicates to the extension via a HTTP socket and do not directly affect the r…

Yes, you should. This is not a general issue and most likely caused either by the version of LibreOffice you run or problems in dependencies of LibreOffice in your distro.
-
Try updating LibreOffice. Does it happen in a new document?
-
Are your citations stored as ReferenceMarks or Bookmarks (check in document preferences)? Bookmarks tend to get corrupted more easily and unless you are collaborating on the doc with Word users you should use ReferenceMarks.
-
The Zotero application should have multiple windows open, one of which will be the citation dialog. The citation dialog would normally come to the front, but there are some caveats depending on your OS and number of monitors connected to your comput…

Does it occur in a new document? If not, try running through the debugging broken documents steps.

@ppraet Sorry for the delay. We have pushed some additional changes to the Beta Connector that will hopefully fix this properly. Please try testing again.
-
I've created an issue to track this. No ETA at the moment. When we have updates we will post in the issue and this forum thread.

@a12017552 Word Online 365 currently does not have Zotero support. You will need to download a desktop Office version. @GuillaumeBDEB See https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_troubleshooting#zotero_tab_does_not_appear_in_the_word_ri…

If you saved the document as .odt then the links will be lost. You have sent a copy of the .odt document to us too. Make sure you save it as (.doc), you might need to go back to a previous version of the document if you want the links returned. Othe…

Does this problem occur in a new document too?
-
You are using a custom citation style in the document. Does the problem still occur if you switch to something like Vancouver? If it does not it means there is a problem with your citation style.
-
Remove the bibliography and insert it again with Zotero. Does that fix it?
-
What do you mean exactly? Is only the Zotero option in the Word ribbon gone, or have all options disappeared?
-
You do? Even when testing the cutting and pasting that eventually failed?
-
Copying has always worked, although if you remove the original citation before interacting with Zotero in some way, e.g. by adding another citation, editing, etc, the duplicated citation will stop working too. You are not seeing the proper function…

After copying and pasting a working citation open the Developer Console (by pressing F12). Copy the contents of any error messages listed and provide another pastebin.

I've created an issue for this. It is not very difficult and we could definitely improve the UI there, but also not very high priority, so no immediate timeline for the change for now.
-
The developers are reading the forums. This is likely technically feasible for both LibreOffice and Word and perhaps Google Docs too, but given that any changes to integration plugins are fairly costly in terms of development time and complexity we …

Could you produce a Debug ID from the Zotero Connector? 1. Open the Zotero Connector preferences 2. In the Advanced tab of the Zotero Connector preferences, check the box next to “Enable Logging.” Do not close this tab. 3. In a new tab navigate to …

@Grode Could you submit a Report ID from the Zotero Connector?

I am not sure if there is any tool to help you out here, but you could change the citation style to an author-date one (e.g. APA) where it will be easier to identify which citations contain which items and remove them that way. Removing the items f…
