• I solved my problem. I backed up my zotero storage folder, deinstalled firefox completely with all personal settings, reinstalled, installed zotero, linked my library and now all is working again. Thank you for your help.

• I have found the cause for my problems. It was an add-on I had installed on firefox - "Table2Clipboard 0.0.3" (in case anybody else gets the same problem).
