It's the Debug ID that appeared on my screen when I clicked the "Submit to Zotero servers" button. As I said, I don't have any technical understanding of Firefox or Zotero. Thanks.

Here's the debug ID: D2083084876 Nothing in the data directory is read-only, as far as I can tell, I have no PDFs open, and the only security software I'm using is Microsoft Security Essentials.

One more detail ... I clicked the manual sync icon, let it run for about five minutes, and then closed the Zotero pane. When I reopened it, I saw the same error (Report ID 613592412).

Thank you. Your hunch seems to be right. I disabled auto-sync and I haven't seen any problems yet. What should I do now? Ideally I'd like to be able to keep auto-sync on most of the time.
