ah my mistake. Sorry (and thanks!). However (maybe this is nitpicking) even in the pdf version when multiple non-contiguous sources are cited, they have [1,4-6,22] without spaces, whereas Zotero puts in spaces after the commas [1, 4-6, 22].

I JUST saw that too and am a bit confused as to what the proper formatting is. I was looking at ALL the papers published in the most recent edition and they all have it in the [1] or [1],[2],[5],[7] or [1]-[5], etc format. http://www.plosmed…
