The Go to Page obtained after unlinking the [highlighted text] only opens the PDF file to its first page if it is not already opened in a PDF Reader tab.

You have annotations on the left and notes on the right.

You have probably activated the split view mode of the PDF Reader. From the top menu: "View" -> "Split Vertically". Or from a right-click in the PDF.
