Thanks, OK, done: D173344966 This was a small file (360 KB) that I inserted. Spinning went on for 10 or so minutes, and is still going. My internet speed is fine - this has been happening from work and home (same machine).

I've just changed the .cit extension to .txt, and the file is just a very simple text file. Surely, there are some intrepid programmers who who can write a small program to read this this into Zotero?
