@rbpasker -- pretty sure that's the most recent beta. Beta builds aren't created for every github commit.
-
I don't think the change is Z6 to Z7 -- flash drives have always been very tenuous and it's generally not a great idea to work with them with databases (i.e., sqlite files).
-
For an incomplete list: any links to items in Word documents would break, you'd create a mess with your synced library (all items would duplicate), some newer item types might not transfer correctly, and some very specific fields (I think e.g. event…

Sounds like citations have become disconnected. If you click on a citation (not bibliography entry), use Add/Edit Citation, and then click on the grey/blue citation bubble, do you see the option "Open in My Library" (or "Open in [Group Name]") as in…

The chance that Zotero randomly changed filepaths in your database is close to zero, and that's the extent of Zotero's involvement with linked files. This could be caused by a setup issue, by a permissions issue on your system, by a broken add-on..…
-
For the first issue, if you don't particularly care about the citation style, using a footnote/endnote based style like Chicago Manual will link footnote/endnote numbers in text to the reference. Those styles follow a different logic than 'numeric' …

Could you post some DOIs you're testing with?
-
You can't selectively sync collections, but you can just select and delete attached files, and -- after emptying the trash and syncing -- that will free up space, though do read this: https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/storage_quota_and_local_storage…
-
Which citation style and how are you adding that information to the citations? In a pinch, you can probably use the suffix field.
-
Or document? In any case, new item types are going to be added very sparingly, and I don't really see a place where we'd add something as specialized as a syllabus (how often is that cited, really?). There's currently -- and in the medium run at le…
-
Its the disambiguate-add-names set on citation that you want to look at
-
That's certainly worth trying -- obviously work in a copy of the doc in case anything goes completly awry
-
Have you tested in a fresh document? I find it hard to think of a way how Zotero's APA style could produce the above reference with the data you screenshotted.
-
Well, for a start, which one is the one you're seeing in Zotero Desktop? As I said, both screenshots are from the web library.
-
Both of these are web libraries. You have two different usernames: digitalduchess (the one you're posting from) and info6800 (the one in the 2nd screenshote). I'm guessing you have the second one synced because it's larger?
-
If the information refreshes otherwise, it's not disconnected from Zotero obviously (just seeing the references in Zotero doesn't mean they're connected to the ones in Word, though). The APA style leaves titles exactly as they are in Zotero except …
-
Also, test in a fresh document. If it looks right there and switching style doesn't work, the issue is likely that references are disconnected from Zotero
-
Show us the style again on pastebin, but first double check that line. In particular l, the / at the beginning is the most likely cause of the error message
-
If this always happens, I wonder if the language tag (which is also incorrect -- should be English) plays a role.
-
How are you generating/testing the citation? Does this happen in the Style editor? When using "Create Bibliography"? If it doesn't in either of those but does happen in the word processor add-on, you're picking up different metadata there.
-
2. Won't damage anything, no. It makes some searches impossible (e.g., preprints and other green OA version of articles that are automatically added to Zotero items are no longer clearly identifiable in Zotero) but it won't cause any actual damages.
-
In the download pop-up, you eventually get a red X before the PDF, yes? Have you tried importing not from the PDF view but from the abstract?
-
No, the function in ZotFile was to attach the file last added to a specified (typically the Download) folder. It confused many people and wasn't super widely used (which is why it's not in Zotero 7, presumably), but some people really liked it.
