It doesn't sound like your citations are unlinked at all and none of this sounds actually unusual (the 'very weird part', unless I'm misunderstanding, is just that if you don't either escape or return the add citation dialog, it remains open with it…

Yeah, the block display adds a soft linebreak before and after the block, so that's the empty line. I'm not sure why indent isn't working correctly though -- I assume that looks right in the style editor?
-
I don't think so, no, the default styles can't be uninstalled.
-
Can you post a screenshot of your document preferences (again, the style manager isn't relevant). Also, how are you adding the citations to the document?
-
I don't think we have one that always displays the date -- it's not something Chicago does. I don't quite understand why you would want to customize citations for a dissertation. Chicago styles are used by 100s of publishers and probably 100000s of …

Just author is correct for immediately subsequent (formerly ibid) citations. As damnation says, there are different versions available, both one that uses ibid and one that always uses the regular short note with title
-
What do you see in the right-click menu (screenshot would be perfect, otherwise first 3-4 items are likely enough)
-
Make sure automatically update citations is checked in the Document preferences
-
You change citation styles in the Zotero Word add-on under Document Preferences. The Style manager is only for installing or uninstalling styles.
-
No, they explicitly say they want author year ("Harvard") for citations. Why do you think that's wrong?
-
You're supervisor is wrong. In-text citations in APA style should be in the same order they are in the bibliography, i.e. alphabetical (then chronological). It's the very first sentence of APA's 'basic principles' page on citing multiple works: http…

Why not put CDC into the author field for 3? That seems right anyway if there's no personal author

All old versions are here: https://github.com/citation-style-language/styles/commits/master/society-for-american-archaeology.csl use the "View code at this point" button to see them and then click on "Raw" to install. Note that old version will be o…

I'm a bit confused about the manually created label -- where is that stored/coming from? And does the DIN alphanumeric style work correctly for you?
-
If you want to import large amounts of WoS references in Zotero, export from WoS (I think it's Web of Science tagged, but not sure) and import in Zotero. Beyond that, could you say what "the website crashes" means --that's not really something tha…

No, different PR ( and easiest to tag on GitHub)

Sponsors are not typically cited in legal citations including in places that have them, but sponsors are very common across all sorts of different legal system (Germany, the US, and the UK -- very different systems of government -- all have them, e.…

There is no PDF attached -- that's a webpage snapshot (compare the icon on the right in the first 4 rows to that in the 5th, which is for a PDF). The snapshot, too, should load properly and we can check what's going on, but the main issue is that w…

Sorry, I'm even more confused now. If the papers are in a shared Zotero group, why do you describe accessing them on IEEE? And how does the Chrome connector matter? Could you provide precise steps to reproduce your issue, please? (if you can't acces…
-
What exactly do you mean by 'open'? Zotero wouldn't be responsible for opening a paper in your browser unless you mean automatically download when you import into Zotero?
-
(I understand you're frustrated, but I'm asking questions very deliberately, so please do take the time to answer them carefully). This one in particular is relevant -- one particular document or any document you work with?
-
Is Zotero generally inconsistent or just the word processor integration? If the former, we'd want some more examples. If it's just word processor integration -- what word processor and which exact version? Is this in one specific document or in mult…

What's a sample URL? It means typically that Zotero doesn't have permission to run -- you should only see that for local files (e.g. with a file:// URL), not anywhere on the web
-
Das macht Zotero einfach nicht. Du kannst im Forum ein paar Word Macros finden, die das mehr oder weniger hinkriegen, aber nichts in Zotero selber.
-
If you just want a bibliography of items in Zotero, select them, right -click --> create bibliography You probably want to read up or watch some videos on the cite functionality: understanding how the Word add-on works is very helpful
-
Also try if you can reset the bibliography in the add/edit bibliography dialog
-
If it's shared, though, can't you just see the size online?
-
I mean -- the point is just that adding sync infrastructure from a different folder with a bunch of additional factors to consider is real work. It's going to benefit only the fairly small group of users who uses custom styles and even for them prov…

Those are the right settings, but you need to change them under bibliography, not citation
-
If you don't see the +, you might not have right access to the item -- e.g. you're looking at a group for which you don't have edit access.
