No, this just looks like this is a PDF loaded from your local disk (the URL will start with file:). If that's indeed the case, the connector can't access those

What size document is this? What's the performance in a new document?

It's a follow up from their previous thread: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/128238/google-docs-citation-error-shows-updating-instead-of-citation#latest (can you merge back in ?)

Just to point to bwiernik's comment above -- I'd strongly recommend creating separate groups for each evidence synthesis project -- that makes working with duplicates much easier, it also makes tags more useable, not to mention facilitating collabor…

(I'd be inclined to agree that basic legal formatting for US materials should always follow Bluebook rules unless otherwise specified)

In standard CSL this just isn't possible (you can't check for the content of a variable). There's csl-m code, which will work in Zotero and you can find posts on that in the forums -- basically you define separate layouts for each language in the ci…

This hasn't changed in the last 10 years; you can find posts going back at least that long. It's just something that happened to go wrong with that particular document of yours. I guess I would click Yes (since there is no cancel) until.the errors …

You'd have to say which "Harvard" style exactly you are using. There are dozens of variants. And is the sorting based on a particular style manual or where is that coming from?
-
The relevant preference is in the Zotero preferences, not the connector preferences (I think you might see it there if you have saving to the web library authorized, but normally you wouldn't do that). We'd want a couple of specific URLs as example…
-
It sounds like you're rapidly downloading lots of content from ScienceDirect? Not much you or Zotero can do then -- Sciencedirect has put in technical measure to prevent that (mostly to keep out bots); Zotero tried to reasonable work with some of th…

That's standard behavior for footnotes/endnotes (Word will only insert them with consecutive numbering). If you want repeated numbers for identical citations, you'll want a 'numeric' citation style like Nature or Vancouver among those preinstalled.
-
Most of the time this happens Zotero is waiting for your input in a window, which could be hidden behind other windows -- have you tried cycling (alt-tab) through all open windows?
-
(Never spend more than 30 mins -- probably less -- on a problem before asking for help here). Zotero has a) never hyperlinked URLs in the bibliography and b) never linked citations to the bibliography in a document so it doesn't actually look like…
-
Right, but Zotero then tries to update all other citations and the error pops up. In this case, this looks like citations you tried to delete but that didn't get fully deleted (i.e. there's a citation in the document but none of it is visible). Show…

("numerous" reports don't do anything unless you describe the issue here as you've done now. I'm not even sure this would show up in an error report since it's all happening in Word). They key to this are likely Word Styles. Zotero _should_ insert …

The update is for the version on Github. Zotero usually updates those within an hour, but might take a bit longer since it was a large batch.

et al. is correct in notes for 3+ authors if there's a bibliography as per CMOS 13.23 If you don't have a bibliography (use the fixed 'without bibliography' style as noted above), you'll get up to 6.

It's possible to write custom code to scrape the information from their site, but it's a bit unsustainable to do this for a single (with apologies) niche journal. It would be much better if the journal could add better metadata on their site as per …
-
I mostly follow, but could you provide examples of what you want specifically so we don't have to go back&forth on the details?
-
No, not possible. It's unofficial CSL, it can't validate
-
a) You can disable this on a per-item basis by included the language in the Zotero item metadata. That's generally the recommended method since it will continue to (correctly) capitalize English titles in styles that call for it. See https://www.zot…

This is not a general issue (nor, obviously, is this intended behavior)-- I have Snapshots selected and still get JSTOR PDFs attached nor have we seen any other reports of this (and most people have that preference checked since that's the default).…

Confirming 1 and 2 -- thanks! Understood re: 3) and I think this is typically fine -- I don't need to constantly use different citation styles in the mobile app, I just had expected it to work like the web library. I thought the "Duplicate" butto…

That's correct Chicago Manual since the 18th edition. Are you sure you need it (there are some style options that still include it, but for common usage you shouldn't need it)
-
I don't think this thread (which is about getting the Zotero citation picker as provided by a plugin to appear in front of VS Code editor) is relevant for you & you found the appropriate one here: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/72025/zoter…

For Safari it's right-click anywhere in any webpage --> Zotero preferences

It's not expected behavior and it works correctly (i.e., places the cursor in the note search when clicking the magnifying glass icon is clicked) for me in the beta on Windows. Can you reproduce this in Troubleshooting mode?

MFA doesn't protect you against exposed API keys, though. API calls are never subject to additional authentication
-
You can not use LaTeX in annotations, only in notes

Since an item can have multiple colors tag (something I find invaluable in my work), a context menu in which you'd clumsily check/uncheck tags wouldn't work well. The keypad functionality for colored tags isn't super discoverable, I agree, but in …
