That suggests you have Chrome set to open HTML files. That's a separate setting from your default browser which opens links. File associations are a bit of a mess in Linux, but you should be able to track that down. First thing to try would be what …

Submitting an error report ID (https://www.zotero.org/support/reporting_problems#provide_a_report_id ) and sending the file to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread would be helpful, yes. Just post the error report ID here, don't try to expo…

There always has been (see above), so you'd need to say more.

Not a strong reason against permalink, but note that you can use the library lookup function for that: https://www.zotero.org/support/locate#library_lookup
-
You should use the semi-official zotero-deb for Ubuntu/Debian type distros, see https://www.zotero.org/support/installation#debianubuntu-based_distros If that's what you mean by apt (it does use apt install), you should have stayed with it. The LO i…

1) You can very much add page numbers and create author (year) citations without manually editing citations in Word without breaking citation updating, see https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_usage 2) So what it sounds like you're d…

We're talking about file sync, i.e. "sync attached files"
-
Annotations will sync without file sync, though
-
So you want Zotfile to move files without renaming? I don't think that's possible
-
Why not just disable Zotfile?
-
you'd have to say more -- it's entirely unclear to me what sort of situation you're talking about.
-
Same -- I don't get the PDF icon in Firefox on any page anymore (on Windows, also on the beta), neither on the PDFs shared by poettli nor on any others I've tested.

First part is probably https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/given_name_disambiguation For the second part, you'll probably need to remove the URL in the URL field in Zotero. That link shouldn't be in the URL field.
-
The file has a bunch of validation errors. You should check them at https://validator.citationstyles.org/ and fix (Zotero should tell you this, though, I'll check what's going on)
-
I'd assume it's a problem with the citation style. Can you post somewhere we can look it (not just download), like pastebin.com or gist.github.com?
-
You first need to get the old files synced online -- the only way to do that would be the old computer. If you don't have either the old computer or a back-up of its harddisk, the files just aren't there anymore, I'm afraid.
-
A little inconvenient, but you're aware you can merge individual fields from other item types, i.e. you could use the original item as the master and then carry over the new metadata fields where needed?
-
Could you post a URL exactly as you see it? I am not aware of PDFs on Scopus and I don't think Zotero would even look for it. Or do you mean Sciencedirect?
-
Sorry never pressed post here: 1. Use "Export Library" in the "File" menu to export your library and tell Zotero to include notes and files 2. Make sure you have a good back-up of your database. 3 Import the exported file into the new group using "I…

Export library or export selected items --> CSV Note that CSV mangels characters when you open it in Excel directly (Excel for some reason wants UTF-16 and mangels UTF-8). You can import it from Excel's "Data" tab (or open directly in LibreOffic…

Not the line, no, that's necessary -- you remove that specific string. If you don't want ibid, that's more complex to edit, but there are all sorts of Chicago styles without ibid you can use.

subsequent-author-substitute="———" is in line 1387

I'm not aware of anything that'll work. You know you can just sort empty dates to the top, right? Edit: actually -- if you create a saved search for Date -- is in the last -- 5000 years Create a saved search and then create a saved search for Col…

The element is here: https://github.com/citation-style-language/styles/blob/master/chicago-fullnote-bibliography.csl#L1438 (and correspondingly in the same line for other Chicago styles) General instructions on https://www.zotero.org/support/dev/cit…

Edit is the standard location for search at least in Windows: it's where Firefox has "Find in Page", in Word, "Find" is in the "Editing" section of the home tab, it's where find and replace is in most text editors (notepad, VS Code). I understand t…

It's either that or tags (potentially colored tags) -- you cannot select effectively across subcollections, no.

No other numeric style behaves like IEEE, so you have a broad choice among them, but https://www.zotero.org/styles?q=id:association-for-computing-machinery&dependent=0 is probably going to be close to biblatex's numeric-comp edit -- sorry, that…

I'm seeing standard italics -- see the preview https://www.zotero.org/styles?q=id:deutsche-gesellschaft-fur-psychologie which ones are you missing?
