Solved: importing the CSV data into excel using the "From text" option under the Data tab did the trick.

Sorry, I didn't properly check the raw text the first time. It seems the raw text is OK, so it must be something with Excel. Could it be something to do with the encoding?

Here's an RDF export of such an item: https://www.dropbox.com/s/e0j695gzfgs3eoj/test.rdf?dl=0 And a CSV export: https://www.dropbox.com/s/nwfs92poqqxk40w/test.csv?dl=0

Ok I looked a bit closer at some of the exports of items with missing dates. There's text in the Abstract field, and plenty of these texts contain a semicolon or colon. This seems to be messing things up and stopping the program from outputting valu…

-
Right! I changed it to manuscript, and managed to find the relevant variable ( under the macro "title-note"), changed "true" to "false" and now titles display without quotes. Thanks for your kind help. J

Hello, I'd like to have only the titles for the item type "document" without quotes. Is there no way but the hard way? I'd use some other item type if feasible, for instance "manuscript" -- if that type also gives archive and loc. in archive in…
