Hi, I tried to convert the backup from yesterday and succeeded. Still don't know what the problem has been but in my case, I will now use the working DB. Thanks for the fast response, twk

does it maybe make a difference that I'm running ubuntu?

Hi, I'm running 2.1b4 - if I try to update, there are no updates.

Hi, just upgraded from 2.1b1 to 2.1b4 and have the same error. The Debug ID is D2137381467. Is there any chance to get access to the db again?

Hi, thanks for your hint. It had not been a network drive but there had been problems with the way of mounting it. With your hint, I could find the problem very quick. Thanks again, Tobi

Hi, I tried several approaches to solve the problem and tried indexing lots of pdfs and it still doesn't work. Please help me - I've got several hundreds of PDFs and need the index badly. Thanks, twk

Does nobody have a solution for my problem? Zotero still doesn't index any PDF. The text is read and written to a file in the same folder as the PDF but zotero doesn't recognize it as indexed. What's the problem? I highly miss this feature! …

I did another one with just one index-trial. The following is copied from the message window: The Debug ID is D54287521.

Hi, I see - thanks for the link. But still it should index my pdf when I manually click on the green arrows - at least, when I restart Firefox, right?
-
The cached data in /media/daten/zotero_bibliothek/storage/5INFECVQ/.zotero-ft-cache is there and I can read the text of my pdf but still it doesn't say it is indexed. Also it doesn't find the pdf when I search Zotero for indexed words. Breaking…

Hi, my debug-id is 472125780

In fact I cannot index any pdf manually anymore.
-
I see, that there are pdfs with text layer that are not indexed and I cannot index them manually
-
Hi, that's what I did. First, I tried to update, then I deleted the pdf*-files and reinstalled them by the button in the search tab ob the Zotero preferences. Still manual indexing and indexing of unindexed items doesn't work. A complete rein…

Hi, I have the same problem but reinstalling the pdf* files didn't help. May it be a problem that I use the most recent version of Ubuntu? (Ubuntu 10.04 RC and Firefox 3.6.3) I'm not sure since when indexing doesn't work anymore. Maybe it's …

I think a simple solution could be to have some user definable shortcuts. So for example a defined shortcut could set a certain tag and if I press it again, it could be unset. This would make it possible to store and tag a lot of data that belo…

It is very restrictive - I guess at the moment, I have only http-ports for zotero.org. Thank you very much for this Information. I will check this and can now find a solution. Have a nice weekend, twk

I thought about what you wrote and I actually don't know how to cite out of a datasheet. For the first, I just adapted your suggestion and treat it as document and for sorting and searching I use tags. Works for now. You can see this thread as clo…

I just want to know the location zotero connects for zotero-file-sync. I have to unlock it in a firewall I have to deal with. Probably that's the problem because at home it works perfectly. Thanks, twk
-
Hi, It just does not synchronize. It says it is but nothing happDens - since I Changed to Zotero-Data-Sync. Do I have to change something I don't know? twk

Hi, thanks for your answer. In the past, I used to declare datasheets of electronic components, application notes of electronic component suppliers and real books as books. Now, that frequently I want to sort my library using the criterion 'it…

Thank you - sorry, that I did not search the forum first, this time. The reason has been the file size limitation of box.net. I apologize. Thanks for your fast reply. Tobi

I tried it today - everything seems to work great - thank you!
-
Thank you! I will try this later on, today.

Thank you very much!

This error appears since the latest upgrade on my Windows machine. Ubuntu runs great.

Sorry, I forgot to paste the error message in my discussion opening. Here it is: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [mozIStorageStatement.execute]" nsresult: "0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE)" locatio…

Hi, The Debug ID is D2036528489. The time until the error appears differs, but the last lines are always similar. I can also do some more tests if you tell me what information you need. Thanks, Tobi

Hi, although the group-search is not implemented I found that it is working, somehow. If you do the following: 1. Make a dummy-note in your library (not in a group) that conforms the search criteria (you will need this to be able to create …

Thank you - There are still some problems, but I think this one seems to be solved. Sorry for posting to other threads - I just did not think that much about it. Thank you, Tobi
