And I assume the style cannot do this either?
-
I just updated to the latest version of Word, and it now seems to work just fine.
-
Ah, ok, so that doesn't work. I guess I'll just go back to not having that disambiguation in the style, but use the work around. Thanks for trying!
-
This does work, at least theoretically. There is another problem though, in that the citations give a reference to the original footnote. Since that is not the same it seems that the style does not detect a disambiguation any more. Can that be exclu…

Sorry to resurrect this thread: After having installed Word 2016 and the Zotero plugin, I then added the keyboard commands. After once quitting Word the next time it gives me an error about not being able to write Normal.dotm. I have now done all th…

Sorry, better?

The line: gives me an error in the validator, that's probably the problem. Have I missed something? I copied and pasted from above. I will take it out and see what happens.

@adamsmith: This doesn't work the way I hoped. I still get Moser, Lebensbild; Moser, Lebensbild. No date is added. Instead a letter is added to the date in the full display, ie: Andreas Moser, Joseph Joachim. Ein Lebensbild, Berlin 1898a; Andrea…

Thanks for this information, very helpful!

It is my own style, but the period needs to stay there as the rule. However, occasionally one wants to put two citations into one longer sentence, and it is a bit of a hassle to write the sentence into the prefix and suffix fields. But no worries, n…

Will this overhaul also affect Word 2011? Somewhat faster means hardly noticeable, or a worthwhile improvement?
-
I guess this cannot be entered in the visual editor, correct? Where does it go?
-
@bwiernik: Cool, that will work just fine for this. @adamsmith: Moser, Lebensbild (1898) (wie Anm. 2), S. 265 Moser, Lebensbild (1908) (wie Anm. 11), S. 79 "Lebensbild" is the short title and should be italics (not sure how to do this here) Works …

I realise that I can use the Short Title field. However, I'd love to not have to enter short titles for every item, especially, if it is theoretically so easy. I could still use the short title where things need to be changed. I am working with Ger…

Thanks! The quick responses are amazing, as always! I will not change the system right now. I am glad it is sort of working well, if slowly, but usable with a split word file (although the mechanisms for this in Word are really buggy).
-
Thanks. Just noticed Zotero 5 is out, I don't suppose it will improve things on this front, though? (I am reluctant to change now anyway, as I will hand in in only a few days (hooray!!), but I would like to know whether the experience will be impro…

Just wondering: is the latest Word faster in this respect?
-
I can now add: It is possible to reformat to the Bibliography style sheet, but only in chunks. For some reason, if I select more than a page or two of the bibliography, the style sheet field in Word becomes blank and selecting another stylesheet w…

Well, right now I am trying to finish my dissertation, so I have to postpone troubleshooting this issue, with is not really bothering me much at the moment (I will insert a bibliography manually anyway).

4.0.29.15 Word 2011 Actually, I was trying to avoid to switch citation styles, as this is a document with 650 pages, and 1800 footnotes. It takes _ages_ to switch styles. Manually setting the style doesn't work, as it then destroys all formatting…

latest Zotero 4 on Mac, standalone. Latest Word plugin (I believe, how do I check? I updated it a few weeks ago.) When I "Refresh" with the Word plugin. "Standard" is probably the German style name of "Normal".

Before I put this into the style: Will this sort the following items: Bachmann 1925 – Alberto Bachmann: An Encyclopedia of the Violin [1925], Reprint, New York, London 1966. Bachmann 1906 – Alberto Bachmann: Le violon (Lutherie-œuvres-biographies).…
-
My own. That's what I need the sorting for.
-
In a long document this takes a long time, twice as long as it should...
-
I found the problem: As soon as I put Date into the Macro it doesn't work the way I would expect. So I took it out, which works fine, I can have the Date in the next Sort key.
-
Does "implemented in citeproc-js" mean it is also available in Zotero stand-alone? Excuse my ignorance, I did look at the citeproc site, but couldn't work out what it is. If not, what is the recommended way to include an original date of public…

The main problem I am now having is this: Suffixes are not appended when the citation refers to the original citation, like: Moser 1905 [Anm. 5]. Is there a way to have both?
-
Yes I have tried, and yes you are right, but no that doesn't help me. I don't want it there at all. So is there a way to not have it appear at all for one type of citation (the first one) but make it appear in subsequent citations, where the note on…
-
But I would have to explicitly unset it, no? Can I set it and suppress it?
-
Now also the full note citation gets the suffix, so it reads: Andreas Moser: Konzert in D-dur, op. 61, Einführung, in: Violinschule in 3 Bänden, Bd. 3, Berlin 1905a, S. 180–184. Any way to suppress the suffix here? The subsequent cite…
