• Same problem with MacOS Sierra and Preview saving edited pdf files as copies. Moving the library to ~/Zotero as suggested worked. Thanks!

• I have Better BibTex added. It happens about 15 seconds after an edit. It happened also when I had disabled automatic synching. I'll try disabling Better BibTex if it happens again.
