My apologies. I honestly thought I had removed all footnotes from my document using Zotero, but as it turns out I used Word to remove all Zotero footnotes. I KNEW it was possible to remove all the footnotes because I had done it in the past. The li…

I don't recall what issues I had in 2015 and that is all in the past anyway. I am not going crazy. I have removed all footnotes in my word document in the past. For some reason the unlinked zotero footnotes button in Word isn't working the way it sh…

Well, I know it can be done because in previous versions of Zotero, and on another computer I was able to remove all footnotes and left the Word document with all footnotes removed. I don't know what you mean by field codes, but all I want to do i…

I find it odd that when a solution is not successful its never Zotero's fault, its always the word processor's fault. I tested Zotero by creating a new document and ceated a new footnote, then I tried to unlink it, and it looked like it was proces…

When I say it took me to another page. Example: I am on page 9 in my book, and when I use alt-F9 it takes me to page 12. I previously typed ctrl-shift-9 in error. I tried ctrl-shift-F9 but nothing happened. I don't know what flattening fields is…

I tried stripping any remaining field codes from my MS Word 2016 document (Shift+CTRL+9)and nothing happened. I also tried the link you gave me. I copy/pasted it to show what I did step-by-step. I have tried using the solutions below with no suc…

I changed zotero back to zotero.sqlite. I didn't get a reply about how to restore my data from backup. I took the steps as specified on the link and it didn't work so I decided to try merging my libraries. I was able to do that but for some reason …

Update: I tried renaming the zotero.sqlite file to zotero and then I couldn't open Zotero again. It gave me an error message saying, "Couldn’t load XPCOM." I had to uninstall Zotero and install it again to get it working again.

After reading the documentation a few times I finally understood what to do. It was more simple than I thought. I just had to find the location that Zotero showed the files are located from the files and folders directory that is located in the Ad…

I read the page and still do not see the answer to my problem. Yesterday I saw all my citations in Zotero, today they're gone. I check to see the location where the Zotero files are and they are where they are supposed to be. users/owner/zotero. Th…

Oh. I didn't notice the link. Thank you. I will look at it now.

I should mention that I'm working with my offline citations. I am not online.

How do I do that?

I got Zotero to open in my Firefox browser now but its not listed in the Programs and Features window, and the Zotero icon doesn't show in my desktop. I prefer Zotero show outside of the browser because when its inside the browser not all my saved f…

Ok. at least you helped me figure out what the problem is. I will have to start the Word document from scratch. I shouldn't have to but since there is something obviously not working right I will do so. Thank you for helping me figure out that its W…

No, the footnote is not displayed on Word. The little numbers at the end of the cited sentences are displayed though. I started a new document in Chicago 16th edition and created a footnote and it worked. This leads me to consider that there is a gl…

No, its a saved Word document. I think I know what the problem is. I had already put some citations in the document and then changed the edition from APA 6th edition to Chicago 16th edition. My guess is that in order to fix the problem I have to sta…

I tried this. It displayed the bibliography.

I do not have the Zotero add ons in my 2013 MS Word. I tried looking for zotero.dot in the startup menu using %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\profiles\ and then I get 58d5o1e4.default so I click on it and get the zotero folder. I went into the folder and…

I just checked my control panel and Zotero isn't in there.

Thank you very much for the suggestion of dragging and dropping. I had tried it before when I had the inadvertently installed the standalone version and it didn't work. I tried it again now that I was able to install the add-ins and it worked. Thank…

I'm using Firefox 32.0.3 and I am now able to create bibliographies with Word. I downloaded the add-on as you suggested and I now see the little image to save articles that I click on in the address bar. Thank you. :) I have another question ab…

I should also mention that the Zotero plugins are in the MS Word program even though the browser address bar does not show the little image I am supposed to click on to save the article info into Zotero.
