The problem went away for a short while, but has returned again. Unlike ldusit, I never have this problem when I'm working on my other computer in Windows XP with Firefox 8.0 and 2.1.10, only on my linux computer. I love zotero and will continue t…

Thanks, Dan. There definitely seems to be something going on (and it's only a relatively recent occurrence). I'm not sure of the pattern of the delay yet -- it doesn't always happen. So I'm going to work with it a bit more and once I have some mo…

I noticed Dan's comment mentioned "assuming you're on Windows". I'm using Firefox 3.6.13 and Zotero 2.0.9 on Ubuntu 10.04, and it doesn't seem to make a difference whether I leave Firefox open or not, it takes a long time to load any item list ever…

Excellent -- always open to opportunities to not worry. Thanks

Sync completed and everything seems to be working fine now. No conflicts reported even after adding new references. Thanks for your help with this.
-
Thanks -- I'll just let it continue running, then. Something I've always wondered about, though. Will the sync continue even if the Zotero pane is not open, i.e. does Zotero only sync when the Zotero window is open or does it sync as long as Firef…

Hi Dan -- So this morning I've got a different (although possibly related) problem -- the sync won't end, so I never get to the point where I might get the conflict dialog. The Green Arrow has been spinning for about 1/2 an hour now with a hover mes…

Sorry - my bad. I thought that the report ID was an error ID. I don't recall receiving any other kind of message, but assuming it happens again, when I'm back in the office tomorrow, with the computer having the problem, I'll look more carefully …

No -- it's not completing without error. I do get the icon which gives me the Error ID above (report ID is 2012158119). It also tells me to try again, which is when I get the conflict resolution dialogue. Sorry this wasn't clear.

Yes. Have done it a number of times and have always closed with the Finish. That seems to clear up the problem until the next sync after I've added a new reference (although I haven't systematically checked when the problem reappears). In any case…

I was worried that that might delete the reference and snapshot, too, but I see that's not the case. Thanks!

This worked (Thanks!) and I added a condition where the Attachment Type is PDF to find all of the pdfs that I'm storing (which also seems to work). I don't really need to be storing any of them at this point, and I'd like to delete them all. I can …

Then I'll just wait. I'll follow up with another debug and report error id after the upgrade. Thanks -- H

Any idea how long until the next release?

Hi Dan -- It's just counting through two files now and shows an upload of 0/2. I ran the debug again and have a Debug ID of: D1272021390 and a Report Error ID of: 1470089064. I don't know how serious of a problem this is and what's not getti…

Just some more specs for the problem above. I'm running Zotero 2.0rc2 with Open Office Integration 3.0a6 on Ubuntu 9.04.

I have recently begun having the same problem. My sync completes on download with 0 files and then hangs on upload after 387/389 files. I have run a debug as Dan suggested above. The debug ID is: D1707746029. I also ran report errors and received…

My apologies if this has already been answered elsewhere, but is there anyway to get a printout of all of my references by collection in a treeview like the software in the previous post does. I'd like to review the organization of my library and I…

Seems to be syncing OK now. Sorry for the false (or at least premature) alarm. If it recurs I'll try to find the Debug ID. thanks -- Howard

Thanks for noticing that. I'm not sure how it's getting there. It seems to be some sort of problem with google scholar and the proxy for one of my library links that requires me to log in to the library before accessing google scholar. If I don't …

Here's one URL: http://scholar.google.com./scholar?hl=en&q=social+movements&btnG=Search&as_sdt=2000&as_ylo=&as_vis=0 but I don't get the folder icon for any searches. Thanks.

Oh, P.S. Do you have any advice on the best way to start over? I'm thinking of uninstalling it from Firefox and then deleting the zotero folder. Then reinstalling it and syncing. Is there a better way?

I know I upgraded my 1.0 libraries to 2.0, but I don't remember that I originally synced them by manually copying the data directory over. I think I always allowed the system to sync the two libraries. I think what I did do was originally have a li…

So I may not be recalling correctly how I started using zotero, but I believe I built the library on the second computer by syncing with the first. I know I don't download the same reference to each library. With that as background, I started sync…

Thanks for the remarkably quick response and for the pointer to the discussion. It really helped to clarify things. Still have one question (at least for now). I understand that the zip file names are the same as the folder names in the storage …
