Oh boy, that sounds terrible! -1 for Word for Mac... If you happen to figure out the workaround you mentioned, I'd be happy to try it. Otherwise I'll just continue extracting bits.

Just an update considering the recent information provided in the other thread: in my case it is not re-pagination that causes the problem. Switching it off did not change the time zotero takes to update/add citations and during the whole time the z…

Thanks for this information. Apparently long docs do present a problem (thanks for the link, Gracile). The second and final reasons that Simon points out don't seem to play a role in my case. Following the other thread on this topic, I removed the b…

Thanks for this information. It looks like a very tricky issue. Itcan be easily fixed at the end. Integrating it in Zotero would just make it more complete and even more efficient to use. Thanks!

Below is the environment information: Firefox 15.0.1 Mac OSX 10.7.5 Zotero 3.0.8 MLA Style I also work on a Windows computer (Windows 7) in my office, with the same results. I believe I have the same Firefox and Zotero versions there…

I'd be happy to look into this further. If you could give me the precise steps you want me to do, this will help since I am not really familiar with things that go beyond the usual usage of programs and applications. Concerning the bibliograph…

Almost perfect. I did not realise before that--although it is now under the letter 'D'--the alphabetical order after the first two letters is not correct. Thus, 'De Quincey' comes before 'Deniehy', the space in the last name is conventionally not co…

Yes that works. I did not think of restarting the programs because usually any changes in zotero are immediately transferred to the word document. That's great and because it only concerns one author (the guy I am citing most, though) it works as a …

I am using two works by the same author. As long as I only cite one of these works in the text, there is no short title in the citation. After citing the second work by the same author, all citations (of both works) contain the short title. I …

Sorry to warm up an old thread.I have missed fbennet's post until recently and would like to make sure that I understand it correctly. Enclosing De Quincey in quotation marks ("De Quincey") in the author field of the zotero info tab does not m…

Thanks for the information on the relevance of the firefox version in terms of language. That worked. I just realised that the vanishing short title is only a problem up to the page when the second work by the same author is quoted (which I gu…

At least it's just one exception I have so far and I'm not intending to include any works by de Gaulle... Thanks for your help!

Thanks, I will try this in a bit. The issue in MLA seems to be slightly more complicated, though. The MLA Handbook says in 3.8.1: "With some exceptions, especially in English-language contexts, French de following a first name or a title such a…

Hi everybody, Sorry to warm up this old discussion but I have exactly the same problem (using MLA style) with 'De Quincey', who figures at the letter Q in my bibliography instead of D. Now, I don't know where I can find and change the cs:s…

I'm running it in German (although I'd rather have it in English, got to figure this out later) and us MLA

I am using Zotero 2.1.8 with Mac Word 2008 (Mac Word plugin 3.1.5). RDF export of the item causing the glitch: https://gist.github.com/1124949 Was that correct?

@ fbennett I have got the same problem with disappearing italics and could locate the citation causing it. I further had a look in the Error Console, which shows the following message: Fehler: this._editor is undefined Quelldatei: chrom…

Thanks for the information! Can you prevent zotero from capitalizing titles automatically. Most of my titles in zotero are correct anyway, so I might get more accurate results if this feature is switched off.
