• I figured out the problem - the second-field-align option in the bibliography style causes this. I edited the CSL, removing . Once I reloaded the style, it didn't copy over as a table.

• If it helps - I'm using the Vancouver style. I don't think this happens with other styles. So I guess the question should be: What is it in the Vancouver Style CSL that makes it format as a table?
