Beautiful, thanks for the super quick fix! https://s3.amazonaws.com/zotero.org/images/forums/u1905432/m51hqkje20vc7fl8bwto.png

Ah I see. You're right I'm on PopOS (Ubuntu) and that Cyan does come from the system theme. It seems like the default in the system theme is to make the selected text dark, and it would be great if this behavior also carried over to Zotero like you …

I found a way to achieve this! The `authors` array can be indexed with negative integers via the `max` parameter, so authors max="-1" will work for including the last author in the file name, nifty! Here is the full example of what I use now which t…

Thank you! I just tried it out and it works perfectly!

I agree that it would be easier on the eyes if the dark grey and light grey from the main interface was used instead of pure black and pure white. The combination in the main interface is really pleasant on the eyes whereas the dark PDF mode contras…

Thanks for posting the explanation @dstillman, that is helpful! I can confirm that it seems like the geographical location was the culprit. I'm in Europe, and after using a VPN to change to a American IP, Zotero does find the book (interestingly a C…

@adamsmith I'm having the same issue as @moore.709 Here is my logging output after enabling logging and click "Add from identifier" with the same ISBN 9780231545853 as above (I also submitted it with ID D919540677): [removed — D.S.] continued in t…

Fantastic! Thank you so much @dstillman!

I think it would be great to be able to see what has changed in a new beta build before deciding to install it on our systems. I tried searching the GitHub repo, but I could not find a changelog file. While I could browse through all the commits, th…

For anyone else coming here, there is an open GitHub issue and PR for this https://github.com/zotero/zotero/issues/1999

I am seeing this exact issue on Ubuntu with Zotero 5.0.97-beta.25+146e1af18. Opening and PDF tab and hovering on the tab fixes the issue temporarily, thanks @dstillman! When I close the PDF tab, the issue comes back.

A workaround for this is to generate citekeys with BetterBibTex that start with the last author name (e.g. `[authorLast:lower]_[auth:lower]_[year]`). You can then add the "Citekey" column to the Zotero panel and sort based on that.

Annotation of webpages has been discussed in various other threads, including the ones below. I will dropped a comment in each to centralize the discussion here. - https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/76648/highlight-text-within-web-clipping-archiv…

I agree that PDF is not a suitable format to save complex web pages, but I also think the main feature requested here is getting the text and images into an annotation-capable format rather than seeking faithful representation of the web page layout…

I also experience this on Arch + i3 with a dark system theme. 5.0.97-beta.18+1eb888d02

I would also like seeing custom colors and/or custom opacity. Somewhat related thread here about allowing for changing the opacity which would at least give the appearance of more colors https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/comment/381268#Comment_38…

Thanks for the workflow tip @qqbb ! It sounds quite efficient and there would be advantages to manually printing the page to PDF since, as you said, one can customize the output. I'm still interested in solutions that would be entirely automated. A…

Hmm I believe that is the same behavior I described in my first post above, isn't it? I can paste a screenshot into a note and it show up fine, and if I check the note source I see a blob:resource:// section as you describe. I believe that the full…

Thanks! I tried it on a windows computer I use sometimes and it works great! It doesn't work on my laptop, but that's because the i3 window manager doesn't support regular minimize, so I can use my previous solution there and yours elsewhere.

Thanks for the link!

Wow that was quick! Looking forward to testing it, thanks again!

That would be great, thank you for offering! I can manage autostart but I will also say that I am content with the solution for i3 that I linked in my previous post even though it would be ideal with an icon in the taskbar rather than a window on a …

Thanks @emilianoeheyns ! I originally thought I would only use this for notes, but realized it might be useful for grabbing abstracts as well, so it is quite convenient that these are included in the .bib file. I actually tried Collected notes brie…

Thanks @DWL-SDCA , but that doesn't show the image in your note, just the link right? I would like pasted images to be visible in the note itself to facilitate quick review.
