Thanks. That did the trick. Works well. Looking forward to when this is incorporated directly into Zotero.

How do I use Reference Extractor with Zotero. I am not sure if this is a plug in that I need to add and if so how do I go about this.
-
No need really. Your suggestion makes sense.

Thanks. This code seemed to do it. The item that looks like a hyphen in the new part is a non-breaking hyphen. Also once my document is ready for publication I can do a find and replace in the document and change the non-breaking hyphen to a hyphen…

A related question. Is there a way I can use find and replace to replace my hyphens with a non-breaking hyphen for this journal on the database side?
-
Thanks. That should work.

A journal Phytoneuron (see https://www.phytoneuron.net/2022-publications/) has volumes with dashes. For example 2022-1. Any thoughts on a work around?

I have some hyphens in my volume field that should remain hyphens in the output but I want the hyphens used in my pages field to switch to en dashes in the output. Inserting the text suggested above results in hyphens in both the outputted volume an…

Same here. Looking forward to 6.0.7

Any progress on this feature or can anyone suggest a workaround if I am using Libreoffice? This feature would help me to easily access all of my citations in Zotero and review them there to correct any mistakes. Thanks.

There is another issue with using the "_" as a workaround. When I use 2012_2013 it does indeed render it 2012_2013 in my word processing program but in zotero in the middle pane under the year column it shows 0000. Under the Date column it shows 201…

Like I mentioned earlier I also frequently would like to sort on multiple columns and like bwiernik the set of fields I would choose also changes from instance to instance although if I checked closely my choices would likely fit only a few (maybe 5…

That would be great to have this an option! I guess if it is possible give the user a number of choices. If that was possible I would then likely go in to the preferences and change the default sort order depending on what I was looking for. …

Thanks Dan for your comments. I agree Zotero is quite sophisticated in many ways and I appreciate the efforts that have been put into the sorting system. And like I mentioned earlier every user is different. So for me the secondary and tertiary sort…

Sorting is a key aspect of what I am often doing when I use zotero so I wouldn't mind a dedicated button for sorting. I also just looked at the zotero UI. I never use the add items by identifier, new note, or add attachment icons let alone the new c…

Thanks aurimas. I just took at look at that exchange. My suggestion would be this. Keep the sort as it is and add a separate button or choice somewhere that is called advanced sort. When you click on this it calls up a dialogue where you can choose …

Thanks Adam for your quick response. Zotero is really an amazing piece of software so thanks for keeping it up and running. I guess after using it for so many years (on an almost daily basis) I begin to see some of its limitations.

I too would very much benefit from a hierarchical system of tags. I sort a lot of references by biological nomenclature, which is hierarchical (i.e. order, family, genus, species). It would be nice not to have to enter all of these keywords each tim…

Is there progress being made on the sorting by multiple columns item. I have been using zotero for a number of years now and am often looking for this feature. I have had to create dozens of saved searches and then I have to remember if I created a …
