@david.stadem - thank you so much, that's really interesting!
-
I could be wrong, but is seems that as of Chrome OS 74 (just come out) the "sudo apt-get install libdbus-glib-1-2" is no longer necessary.
-
Thank you - yes, that makes sense!
-
@emilianoheyns - thank you so much. I've downloaded the Zotero zip via the usual download links and am on version 5.0.66. Could it be a chromeOS issue, whereby the chrome browser cannot reach ports of linux apps?
-
@danstillman It seems that the Chrome browser on ChromeOS cannot reach http://127.0.0.1:23119/connector/ping. Any idea why that might be?
-
Ah ok - I see. Just to say that I downloaded the Zotero tar file, as apt-get was pointing at v4. Do you know what the above version is?
-
I guess 'adding the dependency' would mean that the linux build then includes it? Meaning that the above apt-get command becomes unnecessary?
-
@emilianoheyns Thanks for the comment - yes, would be good to investigate. I don't know the answer though. Does somebody else? @danstillman

Some doodles and work in progress here https://github.com/bjohas/pyzotero-cli

Ok, no worries - I'll move the notes here: https://bjohas.de/wiki/Zotero/wishlist
-
@danstillman Hi Dan, the idea with the thread was a "personal wish list", that would be an index of changes that I consider fairly important or desirable. How about I change the title to "Björns Wish list" and remind people of your message above?
-
@dragonfly Zotero already creates text - if you select "show file" from the right-click menu, and inspect the "dot" files in that folder, you'll see it. (Assuming the file has been indexed. You see whether it has been in the right panel when the fil…

Doh - that worked!
-
I'm not aware of a plugin. It could be done via the API, but that would require some coding (same as an extension to ZotFile).
-
Sure! The full text of the PDF is indexed as well, so it would require extracting the notes as well, which is of course possible.
-
@ZenonMarko: Thats kinda possible, at least in a rudimentary way. You can extract annotations to notes (using ZotFile). Then with Zotero, under 'search all', you can search the full record (including notes). Or did I misunderstand the idea?
-
In fact, it may be the case that creation of new group libraries doesn't lead to a push sync?
-
Aaaaahhhhh! Thank you so much - perfect!
-
Hello all, I'd like to chat about this again - what about setting up a hangout and talk some of the ideas through? Bjoern PS. I might have some funding available or at least have some developer time available. However, I want to make sure that th…

@ZenonMarko Thanks for adding - that's a good suggestion!
-
Thank you!
-
Would it be fair to assume it's a problem with the beta rather than Zutilo (as Zutilo hasn't changed?)

-
@toshwo - not entirely sure, but I think you'd have to go into your preferences, and under sync set "sync on demand". My description is a bit cryptic - if you cannot find it the setting, let me know!
-
Thanks, this is fixed now. Here's another minor bug: When I create a new item, and enter authors one by one, then "move up / to top" option only appears once I've hit enter.
-
@dstillman Just to add that upon changing a library name online, sync isn't triggered. When I manually initiated sync, the name changed immediately.
-
Many thanks - will check!
-
Great, thank you!! In case anybody is wondering for Chrome: Go to your extensions in Chrome, then the Zotero extension, then Extension options, then Advanced > Google Docs integration. Change keyboard shortcut and reload any open google docs for…
