Just in case people are interested: So far we've developed a CLI tool to - take a Zotero item - upload metadata to Zenodo and get DOI - put the DOI back into the Zotero item. You can also move attachments from the Zotero item to Zenodo and submit …

The use-case is linking from the document to (1) either to a public Zotero library (via the Zoteri URI, e.g., https://www.zotero.org/groups/2405685/items/K7JDL4IL) or to a (2) Kerko-library (https://docs.edtechhub.org/lib/K7JDL4IL). Just having the…

Yes, that's very helpful! Basically, I want to get the group/itemkey ("zotero://select/groups/2486141/items/7NGHSWTK") back from the gdoc. There are two reasons: (1) We want to be able to make a bibliography outside the doc (as a folder on Zotero).…

AHH - yes! I'd just copied out the json, not noticing that there was an anchor. Basically, the above text/json is hyperlinked to: https://www.zotero.org/google-docs/?some_code Basically, within the google doc, that would allows me to extract the …

Thanks both - those are both great suggestions!

Hi Dan, just checking whether you had a chance to look at this? Björn

Hi @dstillman, We've checked with the team. It seems to be possible to link a PDF to an item in the user library. When that item is dragged into a group library, there is no warning. The linked attachment remains attached to the item (and can be re…

Amazing, thank you!
-
Hi @dstillman. The items came from other users, so it must definitely have happened through the UI. I've looked through the library, and didn't see any linked files. I then looked with the API, and indeed see linked files - with parents in the li…

Thanks - I've forgotten about the 15 seconds wait - many thanks for the reminder!

In case it's of interest, we've been building this: https://github.com/edtechhub/zotero-cli The attachments function will improve over the course of the next week.

Hi @emilianoheyns, hi @dstillman, Somehow this no longer works for me (Chrome or Chromium, Ubuntu 20.04). I notice this some time ago, potentially since the update to 20.04. I've got MimeType=x-scheme-handler/zotero in ~/.local/share/applicati…

Ah right - I had not realised that!! Many thanks @adamsmith

Thanks for the tips, that's really useful. It would be great to fix the institution as well!
-
Ah ok, that makes sense. Thanks for the feedback!
-
However, e.g. our Zotero kerko use of the API works. Am I using an older version for https://github.com/edtechhub/zotero-cli ? Or could this be cached somewhere?
-
Many thanks!
-
Ok, so you manually enter the data into Zotero and Zenodo?
-
We're using the kerko Zotero app to feed http://docs.edtechhub.org/lib/ from https://www.zotero.org/groups/2405685/edtech_hub_evidence_library. So people are used to managing the web app from within Zotero. We also create a Zotero record (in anothe…

Many thanks - that's sensible!

Just to double check: This url A=https://www.poverty-action.org/publication/improving-learning-outcomes-lessons-rigorous-evidence, links to a PDF, with the PDF being at B=https://somelongandcomplicatedurl/file.pdf. I'd like to have an a right-clic…

Having said that, I just closed some tabs and reloaded the file. It took about 5 secs to load, and I had the same problem. Once the file had loaded and I did a reload, the file loaded much faster (from cache I guess) , but even before the reload had…
-
No, not slow really (10+Mb/s up/down). The file took maybe a few seconds to load. (It was just a thought..., clearly not the case!) I'm on Ubuntu 19.04, on Chrome, Version 80.0.3987.122 (Official Build) (64-bit).

(Incidentally, when I save a PDF via the connector, should the URL also appear in the item? For me, that isn't the case.)
-
Doh :) Many thanks! The issue with the connector detecting the PDF seems to be to do with timing. For example, this PDF is shown witht the webpage icon, but if I reload the page, it shows with the PDF icon: https://www.poverty-action.org/sites/defa…

With regard to "@dstillman - quick question on this. Does a translator know which collection the right click was made? Obviously the item has the list of collections it's in. However, is the information about where the right-click occurred passed to…

Hi @qqbb, I'm making a list of links that would need to be supported here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ayD1ItSV8Sc3XWoayyO3eqzoygPXiKD-Zoohe7SO28o/edit?hl=en - could you contribute what you know? Thanks!
-
Thank you - done!
-
@ngirard - the functionality you asked for now exists in Zutilo (since last year). You can enable "copy collection link/URI" in the same way as "copy item link/URI". (Thanks for Emile with support from the https://github.com/edtechhub, see https://g…
