bwiernik, thanks. But is this only in the beta version?
-
bwiernik, Endnote also slows down a lot. This is not because of Endnote or Zotero. It's because all the references are updated all at once. But Endnote has a feature which allows the use of unformatted citations (instead of Cite-While-You-Write). I…

LiborA, I could not find this feature. Where is it?
-
I've been waiting with patience for the feature to be implemented. And nothing yet. Now that I have over 500 footnotes, it is becoming impossible for Zotero to insert a citation without some serious slowdowns. Very frustrating indeed. I am thinking…

Thanks, bwiernik. One thing I noticed is that when I insert a footnote citation, Zotero inserts the footnote and the citation automatically. I could not find this kind of functionality with other reference managers (although I could be wrong). With…

Thanks adomasven, I will try that. My field of study still requires all citations to be made in footnotes (and those citation styles are really hard to configure; although the one I use is pretty much good, it is actually still not perfect).

Thanks, adamsmith, I had not yet seen this one. Although this is not exactly the "temporary citations" of Endnote, this seems to solve my problem, as it speeds up the citation process. It seems to be a major update, at least for me. I would only lik…

I am using Zotero and I am starting to run on problems due to the number of citations. Lots of citations slow down the document and there is absolutely no way I can turn them into code fields like I did in Endnote. Although the timeframe for this fu…

I've tested Papers and it seems to be fine. However, althought it shows the highlighted matches, it does not have a feature (such as Foxit or PDF X-Change or Adobe Reader has) that allows to navigate throught all the matches in each document. I…

adamsmith, I guess you are right. My previous computer was a Mac (a white polycarbonate MacBook), and I remember that there were some good pieces of software able to manage PDFs. PDF handling was not much of an issue back then, but then it became mo…

Quiqqa does that. The search is fast, but the software is very slow and sluggish. The PDFs are very slow to open. I've also found a way of doing it with Mendeley, but it is also very slow. As I'm using a laptop equipped with a Core i7-2720M wi…

I've managed to add all my PDFs to the database in Zotero. And I've also managed to index all PDF files so I can search the content of PDFs easily. However, I could not find a way for Zotero to actually show the results of the search. I would like t…

Thanks! Now I see it. It's a different approach, but I figured out how to retrieve the citations!
-
No. I just can't figure out how to do that in Zotero... I'll give you an example. I have, in my computer, a PDF file of an article called "Reforming Brazilian Insolvency Law". There's no metadata in the PDF. If I drag this file to Bookends, Booken…

Bookends/Sente is able to retrieve PDF metadata and auto-complete the bibliographic references, just like Zotero does. However, there are some PDF files which do not contain any metadata. When I drag a PDF file to Bookends, it searches for any…
